“Flight” – Flight of fancy, birds in the air … let your mind take flight and explore the art of the book in this call for original book works loosely based on the theme of flight.

This is an open call for entry to artists, bookbinders and book artists. This will be a juried show and a guest curator will install the works in the gallery. There is a small fee of $20.00 Cdn for up to three entries. This is not refundable. This fee will be used towards a scholarship fund for book artists. A catalog will be produced and will be for sale. As the gallery is small, preference will be given to smaller works.

The show will be advertised and promoted. Invites and posters will be printed.

Prizes will be awarded in the following categories:

1. Most innovative interpretation of the theme, “Flight”
2. Best original design
3. Best use of materials

March 1 Notification via email of acceptance by gallery

Images –Up to 2 images per piece (300DPI,Max 500Kb)(These images will also be used for the catalog)

All work is to be for sale.

All submissions must have been produced in the last three years.

The gallery pays 60 % to the artist (30 days from closing) for sold pieces.

About the Gallery
Arts on Atlantic Gallery is a boutique gallery located in the historic neighborhood of Inglewood, 5 minutes from downtown Calgary.


The mandate of the gallery is to showcase regional and Canadian fine art and craft. There is an eclectic mix of art and craft on display with a focus on original, one of a kind, pieces. Our specialty is the book arts.
