Simply irRESISTible

Deadline: July 16, 2010 (POSTMARK)

Simply irRESISTible
an exhibition of all things textile incorporating resist dyeing techniques
some things looming gallery
Reading, PA
September 12-November 14, 2010

some things looming, a fiber arts community dedicated to the promotion of the art form in Berks County, PA and beyond is proud to present:

simply irRESISTible
an exhibition of all things textile incorporating resist dyeing techniques

Artists throughout the ages have used many methods to "resist" or prevent dye from reaching all areas of their cloth...creating patterns and ground color.
Artists are encouraged to submit work for this salon-style exhibition which aims to highlight what is innovative and extraordinary in the field of resist dying techniques as it pertains to textiles.
If you work with wax or paste resist... or, a mechanical resist that manipulates the cloth such as tying or stitching... or yet another form of resist technique involving chemical agents that repel another type of dye printed over the top...or a technique all together different, yet resist-related... this exhibition is for you!

Rules for Entry: (truncated)
- All work must be original, one-of-a-kind, made by the artist submitting entry.
- Artists may submit up to a maximum of three images, completed within the last three years, to be in the exhibition. 2-D work must be 40" x 40" or less, 3-D work on pedestals no larger than 18" x 18" x 18". Freestanding works will be accepted. No large installations can be considered. Yardage is acceptable.
- Selected artists are responsible for costs of shipping their work to and from the gallery.
- Entry fee is $25.
