Each year 6x6 includes thousands of artworks from around the world and every US State! This year we hope to reach deeper into the global art community. This includes obtaining artwork from more national and international artists and celebrities. We would also like to have significant participation from all 12 of Rochester's sister cities. Every year, 6x6 has grown and the consistently high caliber of artworks each year has been astounding. 

All proceeds benefit Rochester Contemporary Art Center. This is a fun initiative that brings together a diverse collection of artists and artworks. It is also an important fundraiser that support our thoughtful contemporary art programming throughout the rest of the year.

We welcome and encourage participation from everyone of all ages and skill levels.

The goal is to gather many pieces of original 6-by-6 works of art. Each person may enter up to 4 artworks.

3D (three dimensional) pieces are accepted. Please keep in mind that in order to install this exhibition our highly skilled staff will only be using push pins and the occasional small nail. If your piece is smaller than 6 inches, please mount it to a 6 by 6 inch board or support.

In 2015 Craft turns 45 years old, and to celebrate this milestone we are pleased to launch the inaugural Victorian Craft Award. The Award is a biennial event facilitated by Craft Victoria in the pursuit of presenting and celebrating excellence in the crafts. The award welcomes emerging, mid-career and established craftspeople across the state of Victoria and welcomes applications from individuals utilising craft skills, processes and materials.

Up to 100 finalists will be shortlisted for the inaugural exhibition across four venues; Craft Victoria, fortyfivedownstairs, Sofitel on Collins Melbourne foyer and 1 Spring St Foyer.

This is a truly unique opportunity to celebrate and acknowledge Victoria’s Craft community, create accessible opportunities for emerging and established practitioners to network and lobby for the value and significance of the art of the handmade and an opportunity for key supporters to demonstrate ongoing commitment to the Australian craft community.


Up to $20,000 in cash prizes will be awarded in the following categories:

The San Francisco Arts Commission invites artists and artist teams residing in the United States to submit qualifications for potential inclusion in a pre-qualified artist pool for upcoming public art opportunities. The 2015/2016 Pre-qualified Artist Pool will be used to select artists for a range of new permanent public art projects associated with the construction of new civic buildings, parks and playgrounds, as well as transportation and streetscape improvement projects throughout San Francisco. The 2015/2016 Pre-qualified Artist Pool will also be used to purchase two-dimensional artwork for display in public buildings.

The Arts Commission seeks visual artists working in a variety of media and artistic approaches to include in the 2015/2016 Pre-qualified Artist Pool, especially those artists who are interested in having their design concepts implemented in durable and maintainable materials. Certain projects may also offer opportunities for an artist to work as part of a design team along with the project architect/designer.

ARTWORK BUDGETS
Budgets for commissioned permanent public artworks range up to $500,000.

ELIGIBILITY
Professional practicing visual* artists or artist teams residing in the United States. Artists who apply as part of a team may not also apply as individual artists. All members of a team must reside in the United States to be eligible.

All application materials must be submitted online via SlideRoom (https://sfgov.slideroom.com/) by April 6, 2015, 11:59 p.m. Pacific Standard Time. There is no application fee to apply or to use the SlideRoom online application system.

Call for artworks that act as independent agents and explore the cross-section of analog and digital media. The art in this exhibition need not be kinetic or sculptural; it is open to any combination of traditional and new media. This exhibition explores artistic objects - or their 2D and 3D representations - that appear to be responsive to our existence, or at least demand empathy, if not an emotion.


Eligibility: Open to all media.  Each entry must have been completed within the past 2 years.

Juror: George Fifield, media arts curator, writer, teacher and artist. He is the founder and director of Boston Cyberarts Inc., a nonprofit arts organization that produced the Boston Cyberarts Festival.

NEW EXHIBITION DATES: June 12, 2015 - July 1, 2015

Entry fee: $35 covers up to three entries. Entry fees are non-refundable.

Eligibility
The Bethesda Arts & Entertainment District invites eligible artists to enter The Trawick Prize: Bethesda Contemporary Art Awards. Artists must be 18 years of age or older and permanent, full-time residents of Maryland, Virginia or Washington, D.C. The selected artwork will be on exhibit in September 2012 at Gallery B in downtown Bethesda, MD.

All original 2-D and 3-D fine art including painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, fiber art, digital, mixed media and video will be accepted. The maximum dimensions should not exceed 96 inches in any direction. No reproductions. Artwork must have been completed within the last two years and must be available for the duration of the exhibition. Artwork does not have to be for sale at the exhibition. Selected artists must deliver and pick up artwork to and from Gallery B. All works on paper must be framed to full conservation standards.

Barbara Kelly Gordon, Associate Curator at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington, D.C.

Entry Requirements
Each artist must submit five slides or images on CD, application and a nonrefundable entry fee of $25. Three-dimensional artwork must include two images per entry, for a total of 10 slides/images.

Awards
Best in Show – $10,000 Third Place – $1,000
Second Place – $2,000 Young Artist – $1,000
A young artist whose birth date is after April 6, 1982 may also be awarded $1,000.

The panel of jurors will select up to 15 finalists who will be invited to display their work.

Eligibility and Judging: "In, On, Of Paper" Juried Exhibition is open to paper artists residing in the US who are at least 18 years old. All works, sculptural, decorative and functional must be original, be made primarily of paper and must have been completed in the last two years. Works will be selected based on uploaded digital or submitted CD entries only. The juror may disqualify work that was not adequately represented by digital image or suitably prepared for exhibition.

Entries: $25 non-refundable entry fee. Artists may submit 2 images of each work.

Juror: Eileen Wallace is a letterpress printer and book artist specializing in custom printing and bookbinding. In addition to maintaining a private studio, she teaches workshops across the country and is currently Visiting Assistant Professor in Printmaking and Book Arts at the University of Georgia.

Sales: Works must be for sale and priced accordingly. Paper Circle will receive commission of 30% on all sales. The commission will not be taken on any purchase awards. All checks will be issued 2 weeks after the close of the show. Accepted works will be posted on the Paper Circle website and Facebook page and offered for sale. Paper Circle will be responsible for shipping costs of pieces sold online or through the gallery.

Guidelines (truncated)
  • New applicants are selected by jury each season. Once an artist is accepted as an exhibiting artist, it is not necessary to be juried again unless more than 3 years have elapsed since the artist last exhibited at Art in the Loft or the artist wishes to exhibit in a new media.
  • New applicants (and those who seek to be re-juried) must submit five (5) photos of their work to the jury with their application.
  • All work must be available for sale and each artist must maintain work on display throughout the duration of the exhibit.
  • Exhibiting artists pay a 35% commission on sale of their artwork. Artists who wish to volunteer to staff the gallery are eligible for a reduced commission of 15%.
