Jerome Hill Artist Fellowships support early career Minnesota- and New York City-based generative artists who take creative risks in exploring, expanding, imagining, or re-imagining creative practices and experiences; reclaiming or reviving traditional forms in original ways; and/or questioning, challenging, or disrupting cultural norms.

This three-year Fellowship supports artists who embrace their roles as part of a larger community of artists and citizens, and consciously work with a sense of service and responsibility.

Support is directed to early career artists, which Jerome Foundation defines as within their 2nd–10th year as a generative artist.

Fellows receive $60,000 over three consecutive years ($20,000 each year) to support their time and expenses for the creation of new work, artistic development and/or professional artistic career development.

The Foundation expects to award a total of 45 fellowships across 7 artistic fields.

Since 1976, Birds in Art has showcased the remarkable talents of more than 1,100 international artists, who presented their best work interpreting birds and related subject matter. Approaching the exhibition’s milestone 50th anniversary, Birds in Art is recognized globally as the exhibition setting the standard for avian art.

The Woodson Art Museum again invites artists working in all mediums excluding photography to submit original 2D and 3D artworks for jury consideration for Birds in Art 2024.

Specifications: (truncated)

    No one dimension shall exceed 72 in. (183 cm.).
    No work shall exceed 150 lbs. (68 kg.) including frame and base.
    All 2D and 3D mediums are permitted other than photography.
    All work must be original to the submitting artist.

The Maude Kerns Art Center is accepting applications for our biennial call for the 2025 & 2026 Exhibits Season. Local, regional, and national artists (individuals and groups) working in 2- and 3- dimensional mediums, as well as installation art, are invited to submit their work for consideration. Solo, group, and/or themed shows will be curated based on the content, quality, and number of submissions. Established, mid-career, and emerging artists are encouraged to apply.

ENTRIES:
Each submission, individual or group, needs to include a minimum of 10 images and up to a maximum of 20 images total. 1 audio/video file may be submitted in place of an image. Audio/video files should not exceed 3 minutes or 100 mb in size. Floor plans of the gallery spaces are available upon request.

GROUP SUBMISSIONS:
Groups can be two or more artists. For groups a minimum of 10 images and a maximum of 20 images is allowed. You may include up to 1 audio and/or video file in place of an image. Audio/video files should not exceed 3 minutes or 100 mb in size. Each artist needs to provide a file that includes an individual artist resume, individual artist statement and completed application form. A statement describing the overall theme or concept of the exhibit should also be submitted. For ease of communication, one artist must be designated the "coordinator" of the exhibit.

Submission Fee: $35 (individual and group submissions)

SELECTION PROCESS:
Jurors will be accomplished artists and art professionals. Artists will be chosen based on quality and technical excellence. It is understood that the individual pieces of art submitted may not be available during the assigned exhibit period, however the theme and quality of the final work should match what is submitted to the jury. Art Center staff will work closely with the artist to select work for the final exhibit.

The American Tapestry Alliance (ATA) was founded with the mission of supporting the development and increasing the awareness of hand woven tapestry. To this end, ATA has created the ATA International Student Award to encourage study in the field.

The Award

The ATA International Student Award will be presented annually to a student enrolled in a college fiber program. The fiber program may be located in any country. The award will consist of $750.00. In addition, the winner’s work will be featured in the ATA quarterly newsletter, Tapestry Topics. All applicants will receive a one year student membership in the American Tapestry Alliance.

Award Criteria

A panel of judges will evaluate the submissions on the basis of the following criteria: excellence in tapestry technique; an awareness of the textile ‘language;’ and creativity in imagery. For the purposes of this award, tapestry is defined as hand woven, weft faced fabric using discontinuous wefts. Students who work in both traditional and more experimental methods are encouraged to apply. Multimedia work will be considered as long as the primary medium is tapestry.


The deadline for submissions is 15 April of each calendar year. The winner will be notified in early May.

The Fiber Artists of Oklahoma invite you to participate in their annual juried fiber exhibition FiberWorks 2015. This 37th annual exhibit provides Oklahoma fiber artisans an opportunity to showcase their work from traditional crafts to innovative art. This eclectic show honors quality workmanship and original design. The exhibit also educates the public about the many facets of fiber artistry by presenting a wide range of media, techniques and traditions. The event will be held from June 5th to July 10th 2015 at Living Arts, 307 East Mathew B. Brady Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Gallery hours are 1 to 5 pm, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. The Gallery is open Thursdays from 1 to 9 pm.


MEDIA
Works in weaving, needlework, basketry, quilting, soft sculpture, beading, paper, knitting, crocheting, felting and all other works primarily constructed of fiber will be considered for acceptance as well as pieces made of non-fibrous materials, but utilizing techniques normally used in the construction of fiber art.


ELIGIBILITY
The exhibition is open to current residents of Oklahoma. Submissions must be handworks of original design or original interpretation of traditional techniques done independently. Submissions must be executed by the entrant within the last two (2) years. Works from previous FiberWorks exhibitions are not eligible nor are works created under teacher supervision as part of a class or workshop.


ENTRY FEE
Each artist may enter up to three (3) artworks. There is a non-refundable $20 entry and handling fee for members of FAO, $35 for nonmembers


ENTRY PROCEDURE
All entries and fees will be submitted online at www.fiberartistsok.org during the entry process. Work will be juried from digital images and will be based on the overall quality of the work. Accepted work will be subject to final approval by the juror. Work that differs significantly from the image representing it will be rejected and returned to the artist.

The goal of the catalog and exhibition is to showcase the breadth and depth of contemporary fiber arts. SDA encourages established, emerging and student artists to participate.

Since 1993, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore has hosted an Artist-in-Residence program. Artists have had a long-standing influence on the formation, expansion, and direction of our national parks.

The Artist-In-Residence program is open to professional American writers, composers and visual artists, including photographers, whose work can be influenced and enhanced by this superb Michigan scene. It provides resident artists the opportunity to capture the moods of Sleeping Bear Dunes in their particular medium. The program provides rent-free use of either a park house located in the vicinity of the village of Empire (no pets), or a campsite in one of the developed mainland campgrounds.

Two 3-week residencies are available during September and October. The artist is asked to donate to the park an original piece of work representative of their medium, produced during the residency, and to contribute to the advancement of the park's mission. This is done by sharing knowledge with the public during the final week of the residency through a demonstration, reading, slide talk, etc. In addition, the artist must be willing to interact with park visitors when contacts are made in the field while working. Donated works will be displayed in the park or shared with the public through other appropriate means. These works will characterize the Lakeshore for present and future generations.

Offering the public an opportunity to experience our national heritage through the eyes, ears and talents of the contributing artists fulfills one of the program's main purposes. The artist will be enrolled in the Volunteers In Park (VIP) Program of the National Park Service.

The 39th Annual Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show, a juried exhibition and retail sale, will be held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. The jury will accept 195 craft artists.

This show of Art by Hand serves as the Museum's largest yearly fundraising event and is devoted to bringing wide public attention to the field of craft art. Cumulative 38-year contribution: $10.5+ million. Funds raised are used to purchase works of art and craft for the permanent collections of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, to support exhibitions and education programs and to contribute to conservation and publication projects.

ELIGIBILITY

The Show is open to all craft artists who are residents of and working in the United States. All work, whether one-of-a-kind pieces or limited editions, should be well conceived and expertly executed without technical faults; works should be made by hand or with the use of appropriate tools, showing imagination and the mark of the craft artist's individuality.

Categories:

Basketry, ceramics, fiber, furniture (includes all media), glass, jewelry, leather, metal, mixed media, handmade paper, wearables and wood.


EMERGING ARTISTS

To encourage the participation of craft artists who are beginning their careers, an Emerging Artist category is available. This option is open only to those who have been working at their craft for six (6) years or less and who have never exhibited at the Show. The application procedure and fees are the same as above. However, those who check the Emerging Artist category will be juried in that same category. If you choose to apply as an Emerging Artist, you must do so exclusively. Those who are accepted will have two booth options: to share a booth with one other emerging artist or pay the special fee of $1,000 for a 10'x10' booth space.

The 27th annual WASHINGTON CRAFT SHOW is a multi-media crafts exhibition and sale focusing on contemporary American craft. This prestigious show features 195 artists who are jury selected from all over the United States. This is an excellent opportunity for artists who work in the field of fine craft to present their work to a sophisticated multi-national marketplace at a national highly rated show with a strong established audience base.

STANDARDS
Crafts artists who exhibit in Crafts America shows must be residents of and working in the United States. All work must be original and made by the artist, or with assistance under the artist's supervision. Work should be made by hand or with the use of appropriate tools. Crafts America encourages you to exhibit your one-of-a-kind and limited edition work.

Applicants must be juried in one of the following categories: basketry, ceramics, fiber decorative, fiber wearable, furniture (includes all media), glass, jewelry, leather, metal, mixed media, paper, and wood. Categories not accepted: fine arts such as painting, photography, lithography, etc., except when incorporated into an otherwise acceptable craft category. Also not accepted: dried flower arrangements, pressed flowers, seed and pod decorations, cut bottles and embellished objects such as painted boxes, weather boards, stones, shells, buttons, decorated furniture and hand-made reproductions, objects made from commercial kits or commercially available plans.

A craftsperson who works in more than one media category must submit an application in each category. If only one application is accepted, only work in that category may be exhibited. All jewelry must be submitted under the Jewelry category.

Work that reflects a variety of styles within the same media can be submitted on one application provided that the images reflect the same proportion of work as will be represented in the booth. Again, jewelry is an exception and must be juried under the “Jewelry” category.

Only artists that collaborate and create one body of work as submitted to the jury may share a booth.

Crafts America reserves the right to invite up to 15% new artists to these shows to balance the style and content of the juried work.

AWARDS
Cash awards will be made for outstanding work in various categories. The 2013 award recipients are invited, jury exempt, to participate in that show again in 2014. Award winners are asked to fill out an application, but do not need to pay the fee.

The Embroiderers' Guild of America is seeking work for an international exhibition of contemporary embroidery that features color as its main theme. The exhibit will be on display at EGA National Headquarters in Louisville, Kentucky from August 1, 2014 - January 31, 2015. Accepted works are due in Louisville, KY, USA June 15, 2014. All members of the EGA, the American Needlepoint Guild, the Embroiderers Association of Canada, the Embroiderers' Guild UK, the Association of New Zealand Embroiderers' Guilds, the Australia Embroiderers' Guilds, and the Cape Embroiderers' Guild of South Africa are invited to enter.

Guest jurors/curators are Shirley Kay Wolfersperger, Carole Rinard, and Ann Erdmann.

The jurors/curators of this exhibition are looking for contemporary embroidery and mixed media embroidery that are concerned with color. We are looking for work with artistic merit that may include:

* optical mixing
* specific color combinations
* relative color
* colors of the imagination
* color of memories
* colors that communicate
* colors that the artist loves and/or hates
* personally poison colors

Please include with each entry an artist statement of up to 100 words about how the color in the work speaks to the main themes of the exhibition and what inspired the use of those colors.

All works should have been completed since 2010 and should be original work or adaptations. All types of embroidery, including but not exclusive to counted work, surface work, canvas embroidery, machine work, quilting, and mixed media, are welcome. Mixed media work is defined as embroidery plus non-embroidered media such as paint, paper, basketry, etc.

Works should be no larger than sixteen inches (41 cm) on any side, including a frame, if applicable.

Three dimensional works will also be accepted (16” max. in any direction.)

This exhibit will showcase work that is new, fresh, challenging, visually exciting, and dynamic. Work that gives the artist and viewer an opportunity to stretch their perception, through the use of the medium or the concept/narrative presented.

This exhibit will open at felt :: feutre- Canadian Felting Week on Salt Spring Island, BC, and will have the opportunity to travel across North America and Europe to arrive back in Eastern Canada for felt ::feutre 2014.


ELIGIBILITY/REQUIREMENTS
:: Open to artists living and working in Canada, and Canadian citizens currently living abroad.
:: Entries must be original work completed after May 1, 2011.
:: Collaborative works will be considered as a single entry. Artists submitting both collaborative and individual works must apply separately.
:: Installation pieces must state all measurements in entry.
:: Work must be original in concept and design and not be the result of a class or workshop.
:: All work must be created primarily using traditional (wet) or needlefelting techniques.
:: All work MUST be available for touring for up to one year beginning September 24th, 2013.
:: Accepted work must be completely ready for installation including any essential display hardware, rods or stands, plus installation description.
:: Work other than that submitted and chosen by the jury may not be substituted.
:: Work will be insured while on exhibit.
:: A 40% commission on retail sales will be retained. Work sold during the exhibition will be replaced with work of a similar nature, to be accepted by the jury, before the exhibition opens in each new venue.

ENTRY FEE $35 non-refundable for up to three (3) entries must accompany the application.


AWARDS
Awards will be presented in each of the following categories:
Wearables, Two Dimensional Work, Three Dimensional Work, Interior Design, and will be selected by the jury.
There will also be a People’s Choice Award to be determined at the end of the opening exhibit.

The Beans for Brains Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship for students attending an accredited and approved institution of higher education.

The scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors, undergraduate, graduate and professional school students in any course of study.

For the coming award year, there are five $2,250 scholarships up for grabs, one of which is guaranteed to go to a Reno/Tahoe local (the other four awards will be distributed evenly among the four U.S. Regions). There will only be one winner per region. Your region is determined by your hometown.

Awards are merit-based and applications will be judged on GPA, extracurricular activities and essay quality. All application documents must be submitted in English.

Eligibility
To be eligible for a Beans for Brains Scholarship, an applicant must:
•Know how to knit or crochet
•Plan to attend an accredited and approved institution of higher education during the 2012-2013 academic school year

Application Components
The required components of the Beans for Brains application are:
•A completed application
•A personal photo of the applicant holding their original knitting/crochet design OR a photo of the applicant holding a recent and completed knitting/crochet project

The Carnegie Visual and Performing Arts Center is dedicated to showcasing the works of emerging and established artists in all artistic disciplines. The Carnegie is located in Covington, Kentucky, ten blocks from the Ohio River and downtown Cincinnati, Ohio. The organization was established in 1972. Each year, 30-40 group and solo shows are awarded for the five galleries consisting of over 6,000 square feet of exhibition space.

Eligibility
Any artist(s) living in the United States. All styles and media are eligible. Note: Any artist who has been awarded a solo show at The Carnegie must wait three years to apply again for a solo show. You may however, apply for group and theme shows during that period.

Submissions
Solo Exhibition - Ten images of a consistent body of work in JPEG format provided on CD (see below for image details; CD will not be returned), $25 entry fee (Carnegie members $20 entry fee) and attached application form.

Group Exhibition (Two or more artists) - Twenty images representing all artists who will be showing in the exhibition, $40 entry fee (Carnegie members $35 entry fee), and attached application form. A one-page typed statement may be submitted to better understand the purpose or details of the show. Please use one contact person.

Art of Food - This year we are asking artists to submit proposals of art created from food or art that carries a food theme. A simple drawing and a short written
statement on the proposed creation is all that is necessary, but you may elaborate however you wish. There is no entry fee.

Hair as Art - A special exhibition that will explore Hair as an art form. Artists are asked to submit art or proposals that have hair as the main or prominent subject matter. This will be combined with some of the best hair designs on live models for the Opening Reception. Exhibition will run two weeks and there is no entry fee.

Selection
Each year three jurors are selected to independently evaluate the work submitted for solo and group shows.

Open to all fiber artists. Fiber art is a style of fine art which uses textiles such as fabric, yarn, and natural and synthetic fibers. It encompasses a wide variety of styles, including art quilts, wall hangings, sculpture and other 3 dimensional art, weavings and mixed media. Fiber art works are works of art that communicate some sort of message, emotion or meaning and go beyond just the literal meaning of the materials. Pieces that follow patterns without doing anything more, are not considered works of fiber art.

Intention:
Finalists will be selected for artistic excellence, which includes concept and mastery of technique. Artwork will be selected solely on its own merit without regard to the artist's name, geographic location, national home or any other factor outside of the quality of their artwork. It is our intention to choose the best art in terms of composition, concept, content and overall excellence, from a wide range of styles. We intend for the show to be well rounded and to include a wide range of artistic
expression. The number of pieces selected for exhibit is determined by jury and gallery discretion. The final number may vary according to juror selection.

Exhibitions:
All exhibits take place online at www.InfinityArtGallery.com and showcase artwork by international contemporary artists. Jury selected artwork will be exhibited for three months online at Infinity Art Gallery.

All eligible entries submitted by artists may be displayed online during the call-to-artists. Artists may choose not to participate in the pre-exhibit show and will have the option for jurors only when they submit their work.

Eligibility:
All juried exhibits are open for artists everywhere. Artists must be 18 years of age or older. All works submitted must be created within 36 months prior to the deadline. The original design and concept must have been created by the submitting artist, have been created without the use of a kit, and may not have been created under supervision or instruction.

Craftwork will not be accepted. The exploration of traditional craft materials used in an artistic realm is acceptable, but will not be accepted if the work is deemed to be a ‘craft’ piece. One way artists may determine if their work is craft is to inquire whether the piece is poetic in ‘concept’ and ‘emotional response’.

Artists pay an entry fee of $25 USD to submit 1 or 2 works of art. Artists may enter more than once.

Individual artists, crafters, fine craft artisans, art guilds, and fine craft guilds are invited to participate in the Arts and Crafts Booth Exhibition during the Main Event of the 2011 North Charleston Arts Festival. Vendors may offer original fine art or photography, prints, reproductions, or decorative handmade items.

TERMS & REGULATIONS (truncated)
• Applicant must be age 18 and up.
• Open to artists, crafters, fine craft artisans, art and fine craft guilds (see category descriptions).
• Booth size 10' X 10' with limited number of indoor and outdoor booth spaces available.
• Vendor must provide tables, table covers, chairs, display equipment & tent (optional if outdoors).
• Vendors are responsible for collecting/remitting appropriate state sales taxes and/or fees.
• Priority is given to those demonstrating art/ craft.
• Sponsor reserves the right to limit or select vendors to ensure a variety of items and prices.
• Items that are mass produced, made from kits, or imported for resale are not permitted.

Art: Original fine art or photography, framed or unframed prints, reproduced items from original work.
Crafts: Decorative handmade items for home, office, garden or personal use.
Fine Crafts: High quality items created by traditional techniques and fine craftsmanship.
Guild Members' Discount: Art Guild and Fine Craft Guild members are eligible to receive a group discount with four+ members participating.
Guild Display: Art Guilds and Fine Craft Guilds are eligible to receive a free booth/table/2 chairs to exhibit/demonstrate members’ works; distribute membership/service information. (No sales allowed, however, membership dues may be collected.)

The Works Art & Design Festival is proud to present the largest FREE art and design festival in North America. The Works is an exciting way for artisans to attract new patrons from Edmonton’s Downtown core to the art community. Artisans and Designers can securely sell and promote their talents through 2 options – Tents or Co-op Tables. The Works Art & Design Festival prefers hand-crafted, locally made art and designs. Open for all 13 days of the Festival from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM, each booth/table will be supplied with a 110V outlet, one table and two chairs. Each vendor must provide a representative during all festival operating hours – RAIN OR SHINE. Volunteers are available for restroom/meal relief. Onsite Security 24/7.

The Works Art Market Tents - located on Churchill Square, each canopied tent is 10’ x 10’ ft. Shared tents are allowed.

The Works Art Market Co-op Tables - The Co-op tables offer artisans to sell and showcase a smaller selection of artworks. This option is also available to schools, community organizations and art networks where a bazaar atmosphere is shared with fellow artisans and organizations. One table (4 feet long) and two chairs will be provided, but each table must be entirely self-contained.

Submissions will be juried on the basis of design, technical skill, originality, and salability. All products and images submitted for jury and marketed at The Works Festival must be the artist’s original designs and be of professional quality. The juried artist/craftsperson assures that he or she has direct, hands-on involvement over the creative and production process.

$300 Refundable Damage Deposit for Tent and Table Vendors: Due at time of application.
