Stockton Art League: 2012 National Art Competition

2012 National Art Competition

July 5 to September 2, 2012

This is an open juried art competition and exhibition.  The original competition was conceived to recognize, promote and reward excellence in Northern California art.  It has grown to include artists from throughout the United States.

Eligibility: The competition is open to artists residing in the United States.

  • Acrylics and Oils
  • Water Media
  • Mixed Media & Graphics
  • Sculpture
  • Paste

Size Restrictions: All artwork must be no larger than 48" in any direction including frame and no smaller than 11 x 14" excluding frame. Sculpture is limited to 48" in any direction and no more than 150 lbs. including base.

Format: Works must be original, completed in the last two year and must not have been previously shown in any exhibit at the Haggin Museum. 

Entry Fees: Non-members, $30 for 1-2 entries, SAL members, $25 for 1-2 entries, $45 for 3-5 entries.  There is a limit of five entries per artist.

The Maryland Federation of Art (MFA) invites all artists residing in the United States, Puerto Rico and Canada to enter its open-juried competition for artists working with fiber. Any two- or three-dimensional submission following exhibition guidelines will be considered by the juror.

Selection:
1. Selections for exhibition are made by the juror from JPEG images.
2. Final acceptance is made by juror from delivered work.
3. Awards are designated by the juror.

Entries: Any original fiber work including soft sculpture, painting on silk, felting, applique, tapestries, wearable art and more.

1. All work must be priced for sale or marked POR (price on request). Works previously exhibited in a juried show at Circle Gallery are not eligible.
2. Maximum dimensions of entry, including outside edges of frame, cannot exceed 72” in any direction.
3. Submit one JPEG image per piece entered, or as allowed.

Entry Fees: A maximum of 6 original works created within the past 3 years may be entered.
1 or 2 entries $35 (MFA members $20).
Additional four entries $5 each. Entry fees are non-refundable.


Juror: J. Susan Isaacs, Professor of Art History, and Curator of Department Galleries at Towson University and Curator of Special Projects at Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts.

AWARDS
Cash awards total $1000. Award contributors and recipients will be listed in the exhibition catalog.
