The Art Fair Jackson Hole features local and national artists selling handmade fine art and craft. Find returning favorites and emerging artists on the Center for the Arts Park lawn during two extended weekends in the summer.

The annual Art Fair Jackson Hole (AFJH) is a quintessential Jackson Hole summer event featuring professional local and national artists selling fine art and craft including ceramics, paintings, furniture, photography, fiber art, sculpture, and much more. The event attracts enthusiastic locals and thousands of tourists who visit Jackson, Grand Teton, and Yellowstone National Park every summer. Since 1965, the AFJH has become Jackson's largest and most popular annual outdoor art-centered event. Average Total Attendance: 3,000 - 5,000

The Art Fair JH is presented by the Art Association of Jackson Hole, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, and is the largest fundraising event of the year. All proceeds, including application fees, booth fees, and admission, directly support programming, studio access, outreach, gallery exhibitions, and opportunities for artists to present and sell their work.

Information for Artists

Art must be entirely designed, created and exhibited by the applying artist. No reproductions, buy/sell, unlimited editions, or mass-produced work allowed.

Each application has a nonrefundable fee of $40.

About Water Street Studios

40 miles west of Chicago, Water Street Studios is a Nonprofit Arts Center, home to 2 galleries, 26 artist studios, 3 classrooms, access programs for ceramics, printmaking and welding, a visiting artist residency, and a thriving community of artists.


Contemporary Portraits Show:

Anne Harris, painter, professor at SAIC, and board vice president at Riverside Arts Center, will be jurying the group show, Contemporary Portraits. One work will be chosen to win $500. Portrait work in all media will be considered.

There is a $30 submission fee. The deadline for entries is April 12th, notice of acceptance will be given by April 22nd and work is to be dropped off May 3rd. The opening reception will be Saturday, May 16th; the show will run through June 27th and work is to be picked up June 28th.

The City of Ocala and the Marion Cultural Alliance invites anyone over the age of 18 to submit entries for Culture Builds…(“Evolved Play”). The juror will select work to be exhibited; judge’s decisions will be final. Awards totaling $2,000 will be given at the discretion of the judge.

ENTRY PROCEEDURE

• Each artist may submit up to five pieces for judging.
• A non-refundable entry fee of $35.00 for non-members of MCA and $25.00 for MCA members for submission will be charged allowing for the submission of one to three pieces of work.
• A fourth and fifth piece of work may be submitted for an additional fee of $5.00 for each piece.

SPECIFICATIONS AND RESTRICTIONS (truncated)

1. Only original drawings, oils, watercolors, acrylics, graphics, photography, mixed media, fiber, and sculpture completed within the last three years may be submitted.
2. All work must be properly prepared for display.
3. Pieces to be hung must be wired for hanging. Hanging pieces have a weight limit of 75 lbs.
4. Sculpture must be able to be displayed on a stand no larger than 16”w x 16”d x 48”h.
5. Not acceptable work includes: crafts, jewelry, copies of published work, pieces requiring electricity, pieces more than 60 inches in width, or any work previously exhibited in Marion County.
6. Sale of artwork is encouraged, and work will be offered for sale at the price originally stated by the artist on the entry form.
7. here will be a 30% commission on all works sold.

The 35th Annual Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show, a juried exhibition and retail sale, will be held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center from November 10 to 13, 2011, with a preview party on November 9. The jury will accept 195 craft artists.

The show serves as the Museum's largest yearly fundraising event and is devoted to bringing wide public attention to the field of craft art. Cumulative 33-year contribution: $9.2 million. Funds raised are used to purchase works of art and craft for the permanent collections of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, to support exhibitions and education programs and to contribute to conservation and publication projects. At the 2010 show, 18,686 visitors attended.

Application Deadlines and Fees

The non-refundable processing fee for applying electronically by April 1, 2011 is $50, payable online at the time you complete the application.

The non-refundable processing fee for applying electronically between April 2, 2011 and April 12, 2011 is $75, payable online at the time you complete the application.

The deadline for paper applications with slides is a March 16, 2011 postmark. The non-refundable processing fee for a paper application with slides is $90.00 (The additional $40 is for scanning slides and preparing a portfolio.)

Each entrant must submit five (5) images for consideration by the jury. Images must be of current work and representative of work entrant plans to exhibit at the show. Do not submit a booth display image. Only one submission per media will be accepted.

Eligibility (truncated)
The Show is open to all craft artists who are residents of and working in the United States. All work, whether one of a kind pieces or limited editions, should be well conceived and expertly executed without technical faults; works should be made by hand or with the use of appropriate tools, showing imagination and the mark of the craft artist's individuality.

Emerging Artist Category
To encourage the participation of craft artists who are beginning their careers, an Emerging Artist category is available. This option is open only to those who have been working at their craft for six (6) years or less and have not exhibited at the PMA Craft Show. The application procedure and fees are the same as above. However, those who check the emerging artist category will be juried separately from the other applicants. If you choose to apply as an emerging artist, you must do so exclusively. Those who are accepted will have the option to share a booth with one or two other emerging artists, thereby reducing their booth expenses or pay a reduced fee for a full booth.

Awards
In addition to the Best of Show award, there are eight (8) cash awards for excellence selected and sponsored by foundations and corporations. These awards are presented at the preview party.

Definition Of Media Categories

•Basketry — Functional and sculptural works where the material used is woven or plaited.
•Ceramics — Functional and sculptural work where the primary material is clay.
•Emerging — This option is open to artists working in any medium who have been practicing their craft for six (6) years or less and have not exhibited at the PMA Craft Show.
•Fiber Decorative — Wall hangings, quilts, rugs, etc., where the primary material is fiber.
•Fiber Wearable — Work where the primary intention is to be worn and where the primary material is fiber (not including leather).
•Furniture — Work where the primary intention is furniture, including clocks and lamps. All media are included.
•Glass — Functional and sculptural work where the primary material is glass that has been handformed, handworked, handblown and or handcast.
•Jewelry/Precious — Work primarily made from materials including 14k gold, 14k gold & precious stones, sterling silver & precious stones, and, enamel on 14k gold.
•Jewelry/Semi-Precious — Work primarily made from non-precious metals and or other materials such as glass, clay, paper, fiber, wood, leather, and polymer clay.
•Leather — Work where the primary material is leather, including belts, handbags, wearables and sculptural work.
•Metal — Functional and sculptural work where the primary material is metal.
•Mixed Media Where the primary intention of the work is the union of two or more media. Soft sculptures and musical instruments are included in this category.
•Paper — Functional and sculptural work created primarily from handmade paper.
•Wood — Functional and sculptural work where the primary material is wood.
