THE CRAFTYS AWARDS
The Craftys celebrate the best in craft and have categories for Knitting, Crochet, Felt, Sewing, Quilting and more. To enter, entrants need to upload images and a description of their work before Oct. 25, 2015. Winners will be announced on livestream broadcast on November 6, 2015 by PBS’ crafting guru Mark Montano.
Several companies and organizations are partnering with event, including Beadaholique, Better Homes and Gardens, BlogHer, Chronicle Books, the Craft and Hobby Association, Creativebug, Deco Arts, FaveCrafts, The Felt Store, MakersKit, Red Heart Yarn, Snap Conference and the Society of Decorative Painters.
ELIGIBILITY: Creators must be U.S. based. If they are under 18, entrants must get permission from a parent to enter.
DETAILS: Crafters can enter their best projects online at TheCraftys.com and fans can nominate their favorite makers through October 25, 2015. Entry categories include fashion, sewing, quilting, scrapbooking, home décor, jewelry-making and edible crafts. A special award will also be given to the Best Young Crafter under 18 that includes a $500 prize for the winner’s school. Even craft enthusiasts have a chance to win a Crafty for the best DIY Pinterest Board or Instagram Account. The “Best of Show” award will be presented to one of the category winners for the craft that has it all – creativity, great design and that elusive “It” factor.
FEE: $0
AWARDS: Each category has a $200 cash prize and is eligible for the $1,000 Best in Show Prize.
JUDGING: Crafters are judged by a panel according to technical merit, creative intent and innovative approach.

Applications are now open for stalls, shared stalls, demonstrations and micro-events! This is a curated market featuring hand-picked makers representing crafts from across the state with a Christmas and gift-giving bent.
There will be a dedicated Craft Hatch area focusing on emerging makers too!
TERMS AND CONDITIONS – (truncated)
Stallholders must be Victoria-based practitioners.
All products sold need to be 100% handmade in Australia and demonstrate a high level of creative design and originality.
All applications will be reviewed by a panel of Craft staff and practitioners. The panel’s decision is final.
All stall holders should be Craft Victoria members. We accept applications from both Craft members and non-members, however, should your application be successful, you will be required to become a member by choosing the membership package that is right for you.

Rosalux Gallery announces a national call for entries for it’s 9th annual Open Door juried group exhibition. Open to all US residents working in any 2D/3D media except video. Only works completed within the past two years are eligible.
Rosalux is a cooperative art gallery that was founded in Minneapolis in 2002. The gallery is home to twenty artists whose work is well known both nationally and internationally, featured in various major collections, and who have individually received numerous prestigious awards and grant recognitions. The gallery is located in the Van Buren Building in the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District.
Open Door is an exciting opportunity for non-member artists to showcase their work in the gallery. Typically the Open Door exhibition is reviewed and receives extensive press coverage.
JUROR: Elizabeth Neilson Armstrong, Curator of Contemporary Art/Director of the Center for Alternative Museum Practice (CAMP)
ENTRY PROCEDURE
Entries must be submitted online no later than midnight October 25th. Late applications will not be considered. Please attach all application materials in an email to rosaluxopendoor@gmail.com. In the email subject line write OPEN DOOR, then your first and last name (example: OPEN DOOR, John Doe).

Artist Statement, brief (no more than 1 page)
