Lillstreet Art Center Rooftop Project Space

2015 Season
Artists are invited to install work onto four, 9-foot flag poles on top of Lillstreet’s rooftop deck and garden. Flags as well as alternative installation proposals will be considered. Work can be seen from the CTA Montrose Brown Line elevated tracks and Metra Train tracks, as well as Montrose and Ravenswood Avenues.
Installations rotate monthly, May through December and work is displayed indoors prior to install date.
Cash prizes are awarded to Best In Show ($500) and Honorable Mention ($150) artists.
Complete applications will include the following information:
• Project title & Statement
• Proposal sketches
• Proposed materials and construction techniques
• Work dimensions
• Title for the project series
• Preferred installation month
• Artist statement
• Resume/CV
• Examples of most recent work (jpegs or website preferred)
Photo documentation will be provided to all participating artists, as well as opportunities for artist receptions. All work will be archived on the Lillstreet Art Center gallery page and in the Textile Department's hallway gallery.

One Year On is a destination feature within New Designers that presents emerging, entrepreneurial designers with a strong body of work. It runs across both weeks of the show and covers all disciplines.
It is a curated exhibition and as such, those who are chosen to exhibit are selected by a panel of industry specialists on the strength and ambition demonstrated through their work.
CRITERIA
An independent panel of judges will be selecting the participants for One Year On on the following criteria:
* You’re within your first year of business when applying to be part of One Year On
* Originality and creativity in your design
* Quality of making and presentation
* Can show progression in your work
* Commitment to the development of your work
* You don’t have to be a previous exhibitor of New Designers

Brenda May Gallery is currently accepting proposals from professional practising artists in Australia and New Zealand for the following group exhibitions scheduled for 2013.
‘Paper Works II’ - April/May 2013
We already exhibit a number of artists who work with paper in extraordinary ways - as such this show is about the nature of paper itself and we will consider any work produced on paper, with paper or about paper.
Please post submissions directly to the gallery (email submissions and proposals sent via registered post will not be accepted).
Submissions must include a CD of recent work, an up to date CV and a one page written proposal outlining which exhibition you are submitting for and the nature of the
work you are proposing. Please no powerpoint or keynote files.

Cut & Paste is a show celebrating art forms that incorporate craft elements, as well as experimentation with various media in the spirit of “cut and paste”. There are no rules stating what you can or cannot do and artists are encouraged to think outside of the box. This exhibition is open to collage, assemblage, altered books, journals, handmade books, mail art, photomontage, recycled arts and any other two- or three-dimensional art form that is true to the spirit of “cut and paste”.
Submissions
Artists are invited to submit up to three pieces for jurying. There is a jury fee of $25. The jury fee is $15 for youth artists 14 years or younger and for MOSAIC Arts Alliance members.
Instructions
Artists may submit slides, photos, or digitals.
