Las Laguna Gallery is seeking works that explore plants. Any works that highlights flowers, plants, trees, leaves, cactus, succulents, etc. will be considered.  Acceptable mediums include Acrylic, Airbrush, Alcohol Ink, Bronze, Charcoal, Collage, Color Pencil, Computer Art, Digital Art, Digital Photography, Drawings, Encaustic, Fiber Arts, Glass Art, Graphite, Gouache, Illustration, Mixed Media, New Media, Oil, Pastel, Pen and Ink, Photo Assemblage, Printmaking, Quilts, Scratchboard, Sculpture, Traditional Photography, Video, or Watercolor.

Note: All artists who submit to this show will be accepted and have at least one of their submitted works posted and promoted on our website and to our client list. A select number of artists will be chosen to send their work to the gallery for the in-person exhibition at our brick and mortar gallery in Laguna Beach, California.

Commission: 65% to the Artist

Schweinfurth Art Center is looking for artists for a group exhibit related to maps and map making. Work may be in any medium including but not limited to painting, works on paper, photography, collage, assemblage multi-media and installations. It is expected that the exhibit will include work that explores geopolitical themes, environmental issues, historic or cultural themes and more. The exhibit will be curated by the Schweinfurth Art Center.

Submitting Work for Consideration
Artists who are interested in being considered should send or email the required information by March 28, 2014. Images can be submitted on a CD via mail, through DropBox, through email, or through a link to the artists website. There is no entry fee.


Exhibit Requirements
•Works must be framed or have a suitable system for hanging.
•Artists are responsible for shipping/delivering work to the Art Center.
•Submissions will be considered through March 28, 2014

Eligibility
Open to all ASBA members in good standing, (dues paid), worldwide. Work shown in previous ASBA international juried exhibition is not eligible.

Subject
Botanical specimens.

Media Accepted
Two dimensional original botanical art. No photography, no digitally generated work, and no three-dimensional work will be accepted.

Submissions
Up to 3 images on CD, image files 300 ppi x 8" high, tif or jpg, each image file labeled with artist's name, last name first, and artwork title. Write artist's name and artwork titles in marker on disk, no paper labels. CD will not be returned. Include ASBA Exhibition Entry Form filled out, and payment of $35 via check or PayPal to: American Society of Botanical Artists, ATTN: Carol Woodin, The New York Botanical Garden, 2900 Southern Blvd., Bronx, NY 10458.

Sale of Works
Artworks must be for sale, and may not be removed before the close of the exhibition. When sold, 40% of the selling price will be retained (20% to ASBA, 20% to The Hort).

The Halpert Biennial '11, sponsored by the Turchin Center for the Visual Arts and An Appalachian Summer Festival, is a national juried visual art competition and exhibition that is open to all two-dimensional visual artists, over the age of 18 and currently residing in the United States. Any original, two-dimensional works of art including paintings, drawings, prints, photography, mixed media, and works using traditional and non-traditional materials are considered for the selection process. Awards total $5,000.

Each artist is allowed to enter a maximum of six (6) entries. Entries to the competition must have been created within the last two (2) years. Entries not created within the last two years will not be considered. The nonrefundable entry fee for The Halpert Biennial ‘11 is $10 per entry (maximum of $60).
