The Lockhart Gallery at SUNY Geneseo is pleased to announce a juried exhibition, Printmaking 2013. It will open in September 2013. We seek innovative prints using a variety of techniques that may include experimental, traditional and digital works.
Printmaking continues to endure as a relevant medium through which artists have made significant artistic and social impact on their national and local communities. With the development of digital tools and software innovations continue to occur in the field. The Lockhart Gallery seeks the participation of artists using the print medium in any of its various forms.
Guidelines:
1. Media: Printmaking, traditional, experimental and digital (No Photographs or Artist Books)
2. All artwork must be 2D
3. Size must not exceed 30” x 40”
4. Artwork accepted for exhibition must be framed and ready to hang. Art that is not ready to install will not be installed.
5. Artists are responsible for all shipping. If accepted, a prepaid return shipping label is required.
Fees: $30 for up to 3 images; two additional images may be submitted for an additional $15
Artists will be notified by email if accepted into exhibition by August 30, 2013.
Artist must include with accepted artwork a statement describing the artwork’s narrative.

Call for work that explores the use of letters, numbers, symbols, characters, text, books, calligraphy but also images of graffiti, murals and letter envelopes.
Open to all media.
Non-refundable Entry Fees
SCA Members $15 per entry or 3 entries for $35 (membership is $40 annually)
Non-members $20 per entry or 3 entries for $50
Awards: $200 Best of Show, $50 Coordinator’s Award, Merit Awards
Eligibility:
- Open to all artists living in the USA.
- All work must be original (no giclees of drawings, paintings or prints) and not previously shown at SCA.
- Maximum of 3 entries per artist.
- Work can be wall hung, free standing, pedestal mounted.
- Work can be suspended if weight is below 25 lbs.
- All work must fit through a 6’x6’ doorway (105” on diagonal).
- Wall-hung work over 60” in any direction, or over 35 lbs. in weight must be submitted by jpeg image on CD for jurying.
- Free-standing work may not exceed 114’’ in height. However, free-standing work over 36’’ in any direction, or over 50 lbs., must be submitted by jpeg for jurying.
- Video and film must be submitted as a DVD in loops no longer than 4 minutes and selected artists must supply own equipment for display.
- Performance artists must submit a DVD up to 4 minutes and need to display the video in loops and participate in an evening of live performance art.
Selection: Work for this exhibit will be selected from the actual artwork, or digital images.

Brenda May Gallery is currently accepting proposals from professional practising artists in Australia and New Zealand for the following group exhibition scheduled for 2013.
‘Small’ - July 2013
Being small is often defined in the negative sense - not big, not usual, not imporant. For this show we have asked artists who are familiar with working on a small-scale to contribute works that defy this notion. In addition to those who are more comfortable working on a larger scale have been challenged to produce something which fits this category but is not in any way a diminutive correlate of their larger works.
Please post submissions directly to the gallery (email submissions and proposals sent via registered post will not be accepted).
Submissions must include a CD of recent work, an up to date CV and a one page written proposal outlining which exhibition you are submitting for and the nature of the
work you are proposing. Please no powerpoint or keynote files.

This exhibit seeks works of art that use toys and children’s playthings as the inspiration, subject matter, and/or medium with the goal of creating playful, amusing, nostalgic, or poignant commentaries on the role of toys in our lives. Many of us hold fond memories of special toys that yielded hours of entertainment and can vividly remember when a treasured toy was lost, broken, stolen, or otherwise retired. For these reasons and more, toys can be a powerful art medium, conjuring up both treasured and difficult memories of childhood, past friendships, and other recollections. From the utterly outrageous to the sappy and sentimental, this exhibit will include all media, small to large scale. The exhibit will be installed in the Main Gallery of the Arts Building, but a small number of outdoor works will be considered for the Sculpture Garden. Cash awards will be presented. The exhibit will be up during Garden In Lights, Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Art Center’s award-winning holiday light show. In the spirit of the holiday season, and with the thousands of families in mind who will visit during this festive time, the jury seeks works that are engaging, and fun, and above all, playful!
Exhibit Eligibility
All media types are welcome; small to large scale; indoors and outdoors. The exhibition is open to artists age 18 and older working in the U.S. Video entries must be submitted on DVD.
Entry Fee
Artists must submit a $25 non-refundable entry fee for up to four entries.
The Jurors:
Andrew Wodzianski, Professor of Art, Division of Communication, Art & Humanities, College of Southern Maryland
Name of second juror to be announced shortly.
Cash Awards
Annmarie will present cash awards to outstanding work. Jurors will review installed works (not application images) for award selection. If possible, selection will occur prior to the exhibit opening and awards will be presented at the opening reception. Award amounts are contingent upon sponsorship; typically there are at least three awards ranging from $250-$750 each. All award winning artists will receive an invitation for a solo or group show.
