The Art-in-Ed Workspace Residency is a four- to five-week opportunity for artists with teaching experience; knowledge of intaglio, silkscreen, or hand papermaking; and an interest in creating their own work while also working with local school students. Artists can work on their own projects in any of our studio disciplines.
Our Art-in-Education (AIE) program is a model for arts education and operates in conjunction with the Kingston City School District. AIE provides a high quality arts experience by bringing students to a professional artist’s workspace and giving them concentrated time to learn printmaking, papermaking, and book arts.
Spring residency:
During a five-week residency, artists teach in WSW’s studios two days/week for three weeks and visit the students twice in school. In exchange for teaching, residents receive onsite housing and 24/7 studio access during non-AIE sessions. Spring residents work with elementary and/or middle school students.
Fall residency:
During a four-week residency, artists teach in WSW’s studios one day/week for four weeks. Fall residents pay $300 for the full residency, in exchange for onsite housing and 24/7 studio access during non-AIE sessions. Fall residents work with high school students.
Spring applications due by: October 15, midnight EST

The Ora Schneider Regional Grant is a month-long residency for artists residing in Greene, Columbia, Delaware, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, and Orange counties. Penland Core Fellowship Program
The Penland Core Fellowship Program is a two-year work-study fellowship that offers emerging artists the opportunity to explore artistic interests and career possibilities in a supportive artistic community.
Core fellows are selected through a competitive process that attracts applicants from every part of the country. Applications are assessed for the quality of the art work and the interest of each applicant in being part of a close-knit community of artists. When selecting new core fellows, Penland is looking for talented individuals who have reached a moment in their lives when the program will be a pivotal experience.
Penland’s ever-changing learning environment, which includes world-class artists and teachers in a dozen media, allows core fellows to tailor their experience to meet their individual goals. The program can serve as preparation for careers in studio art, education, or design.
Openings
There will be four openings in the Core Fellowship Program for 2015. The application deadline is October 15, 2014.
Costs
Penland provides housing throughout the year, tuition for classes, and meals while the school is in session. Core students are responsible for all personal expenses and art materials.

The primary theme of America's Parks II with the Southwest including the Southwestern U.S. & Northwestern Mexico. Art depicting parks in other locations throughout North America (Canada, Mexico, The United States) will be eligible for the on-line virtual exhibit of PARKS II and awards. However, the museum exhibit will be comprised primarily if not entirely of art depicting parks in the Southwestern U.S. & Northwestern Mexico.
AMERICA’S PARKS II is an exhibition competition open to all artists, the purpose of which is to recognize and promote excellence in original artworks depicting any park (national, state, provincial, county, city, or private) in Canada, Mexico and The United States, with an emphasis on parks in the Southwestern U.S. & Northwestern Mexico.
ELIGIBLE MEDIA: Original, two-dimensional art completed in 2011, ’12, or ’13 is eligible. Eligible media includes: oil, acrylic, watercolor, gouache, mixed media, pastel, pencil, pen and ink, tempera, batik, textiles, alkyd, scratchboard, original prints (e.g., lithograph, etching, engraving, serigraph), and sculpture in permanent, stable, traditional media: metal, stone, and wood.
Ineligible media includes: any media not listed above such as computer enhanced or generated artwork, photography, reproduction prints, video.
FEES:
Early Entry: One entry, US$30.00; Two entries, US$50.00; each additional entry, US$20.00
Standard: One entry, US$40.00; each additional entry, US$25.00

Annmarie’s residency program provides a serene place on the Western Shore of the Chesapeake Bay for visual, musical, and literary artists to create works that address ecological issues and/or inspire community involvement. Artists have access to a private studio space in addition to a variety of classroom studios and garage spaces, a waterfront, and fifty acres of forest and field. Residencies are meant to focus on merging the arts and the environment and should include the involvement of our local community to some capacity.
• Spring/Fall Residencies: residents are required to work with field trip groups and/or school outreach programs as scheduled.
• Summer residency: summer residents are required to design a public art project that engages the visitors to Annmarie Garden in the art-making process. Summer residents are required to work alongside the public for at least 12 hours/week.
Eligibility
Professional and emerging visual artists, musicians, and literary artists may apply. Selection is made by an internal panel and/or by a peer review panel. Annmarie Garden accommodates only one artist at a time.
Studios and special equipment
Resident artists have access to studio space within the living quarters (one bedroom), and are also welcome to use other gallery and classroom space as available. Annmarie has a modest ceramics studio with a kiln, slab roller, and potter’s wheels that are also available for use, as well as a painting studio with easels. With numerous indoor and outdoor exhibition and installation options, artists are encouraged think creatively about how and where to display their work. Artists should bring their own equipment.
Average length of residency:
• 1 to 3 months
• For summer residencies, 3 months preferred
• Selection process—internal review and/or peer review panel
Artist responsible for:
• $25 application fee
• Cost of travel and transport of personal possessions
• Materials and specialized equipment
• Pillows, linens, personal supplies (a modest allowance for groceries is supplied by Annmarie)

The Center for Book Arts is pleased to continue the Artist-in-Residence Workspace Grant for New York Emerging Artists program in 2013. Up to five New York-based emerging artists will be offered space, time and support to explore the production of artist’s books and related work for a full year. The purpose of this program is to promote experimentation in book arts, thus artists from all disciplinary backgrounds are encouraged to apply. The Center especially encourages applications from artists of culturally diverse backgrounds.
Requirements
Applications will not be accepted from students enrolled in undergraduate or graduate degree programs during the program year (January– December 2013). Applicants must live/work in New York State and must reside in the greater NYC metropolitan area at the time of application and during the residency.
Artists are encouraged to visit the Center for Book Arts prior to applying to this program. Artists do not need an appointment to visit.
There is no application fee.
Awards
$750-$1,500 cash stipend (depending on funding) plus a materials budget between $500 to $1,000 (depending on funding), 24 hour access to the Center’s printing and binding facilities for a full year, plus an individual studio space for 3 months.
Artists also receive approximately $3,000-$5,000 tuition waiver for courses throughout the year, planned in conjunction with the staff.
Experienced printers and bookbinders will be available to advise the artists on issues of materials and techniques as they arise.

Open for artists to work for four to six weeks in any of our studios – etching, letterpress, papermaking, silkscreen (paper or fabric), traditional black and white photography or ceramic. Selected artists have unlimited access to the studios, housing is provided. A $200/week fee is charged.
Artists are selected through a jury process. The award includes on-site housing and all-hour access to our studios. Artists are given a thorough studio orientation at no charge, but should be able to work independently. Technical assistance and instruction are available for $50/hour and artists must provide their own materials.

Studio Workspace Residencies
Women’s Studio Workshop

Open for artists to work for four to six weeks in any of our studios – etching, letterpress, papermaking, silkscreen (paper or fabric), traditional black and white photography or ceramic. Selected artists have unlimited access to the studios, housing is provided. A $200/week fee is charged.
Artists are selected through a jury process. The award includes on-site housing and all-hour access to our studios. Artists are given a thorough studio orientation at no charge, but should be able to work independently. Technical assistance and instruction are available for $50/hour and artists must provide their own materials.

The Ora Schneider regional residency grant is for artists residing in Greene, Columbia, Delaware, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan and Orange counties. Gail Schneider Matlin (Ora’s daughter), gifted artist and former WSW board member, is funding these artist’s residencies, to honor her mother’s long time commitment to the cultural life in our community.
The grant will support two artists in month-long residencies in any of the Workshop’s studios. A $1500 stipend and unlimited access to the studios is included. Onsite Housing can be arranged. Priority will be given to artists with experience and a working knowledge of etching/intaglio/monoprint, letterpress, hand papermaking, screenprinting, photography and ceramics.

Women’s Studio Workshop’s Art-In-Education Program, Hands On Art (HOA), is a collaboration with the Kingston City School District and is a model for arts education. HOA provides a high quality arts experience by bringing students to a professional artists’ workspace to spend concentrated time learning printmaking, papermaking, and book arts.
Fall Art-in-Education Workspace Combo Requirements: Must have teaching experience and knowledge in one of the studio areas: silkscreen, papermaking, or etching. Artists teach one day per week for four weeks and pay $300 for a four week Workspace Residency. In exchange they receive access to the studio of their choice, during non-HOA sessions. Taos and the surrounding villages, is known for being a "fiber" destination. In keeping with this tradition, the Taos Fiber Marketplace offers the best of many fiber festivals, with a New Mexico flair.
There are three main areas in the Taos Convention Center space: a vendor marketplace that will feature all types of supplies for the fiber artist; free demos and clinics sponsored by a variety of fiber artists; and a large social space where attendees can and sit, knit, spin, weave and share their tips and ideas with like-minded fiber artists.
The Vendor Marketplace may have up to 75 booths available, with the balance being allocated to the demo/clinic area. Most booths are 8'x10', a few are 10'x10' and one is 8'x8'. Vendors in this marketplace will be juried for the purpose of bringing the widest variety of fiber supplies to the market. Preference will be given for those vendors willing to travel from long distances and those that have show experience in the past. Finished goods will be allowed as display items. Tools, books, equipment, yarn, fibers, etc. are all acceptable for the fiber artist needs.
Vendors in the demo / clinic area in the front portion of the Rio Grande Hall (next to the social area) have booths that are approximately the same size as those in the marketplace. The main difference is that these vendors can sell finished goods, market their business or studio, conduct one-on-one training to anyone interested, etc. The one requirement is that they must demo their work or have hands-on clinics. As part of the jury process, these vendors may indicate if they will only have photos and documentation to describe how their work is made.
All vendors must bring their own display items. Taos Fiber Marketplace will not be "poling and draping" the booths. Tables, chairs, electricity and tablecloths are available as indicated on the vendor application.
Entries will be juried and accepted as they are submitted.
All new vendors (that we have not already met) must submit sufficient photos and information to document what they will be bringing or doing. A substantial web presence may be sufficient to offset the need for photos.
The vendor mix will be balanced to provide the greatest diversity and experience to the market goers.
The entire marketplace is open to the public free of charge. The large portion of the booth fees will be earmarked for advertising the event. Checks and credit cards will not be processed until the vendor is accepted into one category or another.

For the ninth year, the Carnegie Center for Art & History invites artists to submit entries for Form, Not Function: Quilt Art at the Carnegie, an exhibition exploring the world of contemporary art quilts. This annual, juried exhibit draws works of art by artists across the United States and celebrates innovation and creative thought in the increasingly popular medium of art quilts.
Eligibility: Form, Not Function is open to artists living in the United States. All works must be quilted (two or more distinct layers held together with stitches); other techniques and mediums may be incorporated. Works must be ready to hang on the wall, including the hanging rod. Works must be original and completed since January 1, 2008. There is no minimum or maximum size. (Gallery walls are 12 feet high. Works cannot be suspended from the ceiling.) Three-dimensional works (including those mounted on stretchers) are eligible, but must be ready to exhibit on the floor, on a pedestal or include mounting hardware for wall display.
The Carnegie Center is pleased to have Kate Lenkowsky, Marti Plager, and Jennifer Sargent as jurors for the 2012 Form, Not Function exhibition. In addition to selecting the works for the exhibit, they will also select some of the exhibition awards on the opening day of the exhibition.
Cash Awards: $1,000 Best of Show, $300 Award of Excellence presented by River City Fiber Artists, $200 Award of Excellence presented by the Louisville Area Fiber and Textile Artists, $100 Award for Political and Social Commentary, $100 Award to the quilt that best interprets and was inspired by nature, and $50 Visitors’Choice Award, plus additional cash Awards of Merit.
Entry Fee: $30.00 for three works; $10.00 for each additional work.

Annmarie’s residency program provides a serene place on the Western Shore of the Chesapeake Bay for visual, musical, and literary artists to create works that address ecological issues and/or inspire community involvement. Artists have access to a private studio space in addition to a variety of classroom studios and garage spaces, a waterfront, and fifty acres of forest and field. Residencies are meant to focus on merging the arts and the environment and should include the involvement of the local community to some capacity.
Spring/Fall Residencies: residents are required to work with field trip groups and/or school outreach programs as scheduled.
Summer residency: summer residents are required to design a public art project that engages the visitors to Annmarie Garden in the art-making process. Summer residents are required to work alongside the public for at least 12 hours/week.
Eligibility
Professional and emerging visual artists, musicians, and literary artists may apply. Selection is made by an internal panel and/or by a peer review panel. Annmarie Garden accommodates only one artist at a time.
Average length of residency
• 1 to 3 months
• For summer residencies, 3 months preferred
Studios and special equipment
Resident artists have access to studio space within the living quarters (one bedroom), and are also welcome to use other gallery and classroom space as available. Annmarie has a modest ceramics studio with a kiln, slab roller, and potter’s wheels that are also available for use, as well as a painting studio with easels. With numerous indoor and outdoor exhibition and installation options, artists are encouraged think creatively about how and where to display their work. Artists should bring their own equipment.

AMERICA’S PARKS Through the Beauty of Art is an exhibition competition open to all artists, the purpose of which is to recognize and promote excellence in original artworks depicting any park (national, state, provincial, county, city) in Canada, Mexico and The United States.
The 2013 inaugural exhibition of AMERICA’S PARKS Through the Beauty of Art is scheduled as the first of three, with others to follow in 2014 and 2015. The 2013 inaugural exhibition will premiere in Bolivar, Missouri from March 17–April 14, 2013 at the Ella Carothers Dunnegan Gallery of Art.
The Dunnegan is a noteworthy museum that has hosted several notable traveling museum exhibitions. The Dunnegan has also had a tradition of hosting park art exhibits, notably, ARTS FOR THE PARKS.
ELIGIBLE SUBJECT MATTER: Original artworks depicting subject matter found in any national, state, provincial, county, or city park, or any park of any other such unit in Canada, Mexico, and The United States is eligible.
ELIGIBLE MEDIA: Original, two-dimensional art completed in 2010, ’11, or ’12 is eligible. Eligible media includes: oil, acrylic, watercolor, gouache, mixed media, pastel, pencil, pen and ink, tempera, batik, alkyd, scratchboard, and original prints (e.g., lithograph, etching, engraving, serigraph). Ineligible media includes: any media not listed above such as computer enhanced or generated artwork, photography, reproduction prints, sculpture, video.
SIZE RESTRICTION: Not including frame or mat, the maximum size for entered artworks is 900 square inches. Calculate by multiplying the horizontal and vertical dimensions. Example: A 30” x 30” painting would equal 900 square inches.

The 2013 inaugural exhibition of AMERICA’S PARKS Through the Beauty of Art is scheduled as the first of three, with others to follow in 2014 and 2015. The 2013 inaugural exhibition will premiere in Bolivar, Missouri from March 17–April 14, 2013 at the Ella Carothers Dunnegan Gallery of Art.
The Dunnegan is a noteworthy museum that has hosted several notable traveling museum exhibitions. The Dunnegan has also had a tradition of hosting park art exhibits, notably, ARTS FOR THE PARKS.
ELIGIBLE SUBJECT MATTER: Original artworks depicting subject matter found in any national, state, provincial, county, or city park, or any park of any other such unit in Canada, Mexico, and The United States is eligible.
ELIGIBLE MEDIA: Original, two-dimensional art completed in 2010, ’11, or ’12 is eligible. Eligible media includes: oil, acrylic, watercolor, gouache, mixed media, pastel, pencil, pen and ink, tempera, batik, alkyd, scratchboard, and original prints (e.g., lithograph, etching, engraving, serigraph). Ineligible media includes: any media not listed above such as computer enhanced or generated artwork, photography, reproduction prints, sculpture, video.
SIZE RESTRICTION: Not including frame or mat, the maximum size for entered artworks is 900 square inches. Calculate by multiplying the horizontal and vertical dimensions. Example: A 30” x 30” painting would equal 900 square inches.

The Texas Federation of Fiber Artists is sponsoring a juried exhibit in connection with its state-wide conference. All fiber artists living in Texas are invited to apply.
Eligibility
Members of the Texas Federation of Fiber Artists and/or artists living in Texas may submit up to three pieces of artwork. The artwork must be primarily of fiber and/or of a fiber-related technique(s) in a two- or three-dimensional application. Artwork is to be original with no part created under the supervision of a teacher or workshop instructor. Also, the artwork must have been completed after November 2009.
Fees
Up to three submissions will be accepted for the following fees: $35 for members of the Texas Federation of Fiber Artists; $45 for non-members; and $30 for certified students.
Guidelines
All artwork must be ready for presentation with appropriate hanging devices and no larger than 60" wide and 14’ high.
Wearable works are eligible and must include a display device.
Artwork without the hardware for hanging will not be placed in the exhibit.
If the submitted piece differs substantially from the juried digital image, it may not be hung in the exhibit.
Entries requiring unusual or elaborate installation will not be accepted.

Kathyanne White, internationally–known mixed-media fiber artist and instructor, will select the artwork for this exhibition.

Visual Studies Workshop sponsors artists' residencies in photography, artists' books, digital video and multimedia, 16mm film and analog video. Residencies are project-based and are for a period of one month. VSW will provide access to facilities, and housing on the premises. An honorarium of $2000 is provided, (pending receipt of funding for 2011).
Applications are being accepted July 15 through October 15th, 2010 (postmark deadline). 2011 residencies will take place in March, April, May, June, September, October, or November (residencies are not available in January, February, July or August).
Artists' Book Residencies
Access and technical assistance is available for pre-press design and production of editioned artists' books. Projects may also involve digital editions (up to 200) or one-of-a-kind books. Facilities and equipment include an extensive Macintosh computer lab with film and flatbed scanners, inkjet and laser printers. There are also a simple hand-bindery capability. Materials and production costs are the responsibility of the artist.

•Fellowships are awarded through a jury process.
•The cost to Fellowship recipients is $200 per week plus materials.
•The award includes on-site housing and all-hour access to our studios.
•The facilities feature complete studios in intaglio, silkscreen, hand papermaking, photography, letterpress, and ceramics.
•Four- to six-week sessions are available each year from September through June.
•Artists are given a studio orientation, but should be able to work independently.
•Technical assistance is available for $35/hour.
•A thorough WSW studio introduction is provided at no charge.

Recycling fabric is the central theme of the exhibition entitled ‘Rag Revolution’ to be held in March 2011 by workshop hannover e.v. creativity centre. Textile artists and fine artists are invited to take part.
The use of everyday objects, found objects and recycled materials or more generally speaking the aesthetic disuse and reuse of objects, the study of cycles and recycling play a major role in the field of cultural and artistic productivity. Our exhibition focuses on how contemporary artists approach this topic using fabrics as a medium, a technique, as a material or metaphor.
The term ‘rag’ in the title of the exhibition conjures up the notion of uselessness and at the same time impertinence and misbehaviour. It is the ambivalence held therein of worthlessness and defiance, of passivity and activity that interests us, rags rehearsing revolution and threatening: We will be back. With a vengeance!
The exhibition, Rag Revolution, is to be held as part of the joint project ‘textour 2011’, organized by workshop hannover e.v. in collaboration with the Handwerksform Hannover (Crafts Forum Hanover), and other institutions in association with the ETN (Euroean Textile Network) and the journal ‘Textilforum’ (Textile Forum). It follows on from the successful concept of ‘textour 2008’ in which our exhibition ‘Tales in Fabric – the Fabric of Tales’ was flanked by further exhibitions and events.

- Two dimensional works shoud not exceed 2.50m x 2.50m. Three dimensional works may have a base area of 2m x 2m and a height of 3m. All artworks must be provided with any necessary hanging or installation fixtures.

The walls of the gallery will be fully lined these testimonies textiles. From 15 November, the public will have the chance to bet in order to acquire works and the auction will close Tuesday, December 7, 2010 by a benefit event full of surprises!
We hope that the funds raised from this exhibition benefit allows us to acquire equipment to enrich the creative potential and Development Centre. We hope this event becomes a annual tradition. Your participation is a positive support and recognition of a sign marking the contribution undeniable Centre to promote textile design in Quebec and elsewhere in the world.
Here are the conditions of participation:
! This exhibition is open to everyone. All works or textile fragments received respecting technical constraints described on the registration form can be exposed and exploited.
! All the techniques and all types of materials in the field of textile design will be accepted.
! NEW We recognize that artists are often asked to arts funding. In this context, you can choose to donate your work OR you can choose that you furnish the third CTCM the amount of the sale.
Technical Requirements:
! The textile works or fragments should measure 20 cm by 20 cm, no more, no less.
! Works must be light and must not be framed as they will simply pinned to wall of the gallery. The works presented as a series may not be shown together.
! The three-dimensional works are not accepted
! Each work piece textile must be identified with the initials of the creators and a number. For example, Audrey Collin presents three works: AC-1, AC-2, AC-3.
