18th Annual Open Juried Exhibition

Eligibility: Open to all fine artists.
Entries: (truncated)
Artists may submit a maximum of 3 jpg images.
All media accepted including videos and installations.
Work must have been completed within the past 2 years. Work previously shown in any SMI exhibition will not be accepted.
Three views of 3D work will be accepted.
Work must be available for the duration of the exhibition. No substitutions will be accepted after selections are finalized.
Specifications:
2D work: Maximum 6 feet in any direction. Wall-hung art must be properly wired for hanging, no saw-tooth hangers.
3D work: Maximum 4 feet in any direction.
Video: mov, mp4, and wmv files will be accepted up to 500mg.
Floor installation: Maximum 48x48 inches.
NO ceiling hung work. Electronic and digital works must be ready to show - artists must provide all components.
Work not conforming to the submission requirements will be rejected.
Juror: Jeffrey Wechsler, curator for the Sylvia Wald and Po Kim Art Gallery in New York City.
Cash Awards: Minimum of $1,350 total cash awards.
Entry Fee: SMI Members: $35, Non-members: $40

ELIGIBILITY
Artists living in the U.S. or Canada may submit up to three entries. Artwork must be an original design and not created in a classroom or workshop setting. Artwork must be ready to exhibit, completed after December 2008, and not previously exhibited at FAVA. Maximum height or width is 108”. Innovative two- and three-dimensional quilts are invited.
ENTRY FEE
• $30 Online entry (payment by Visa, Mastercard, or Paypal)
• $35 Mailed entry (check payable to FAVA)
JURYING
FAVA's standard practice differs from other exhibitions where jurors view only digital images or slides. The AQM XV juror will view submitted works in two blind rounds. (Artists' names are concealed.)
Round 1 Initial jury from digital images - Notification by email or telephone
Round 2 Final object jury from the actual quilts
Work significantly differing from that represented in the digital image will be returned after the final object jury date.
Juror: Jean Druesedow, Director Kent State University Museum
Awards: Cash prizes
