All That Jazz: Wearable Art Fashion Show and Exhibit 2014

International juried exhibit featuring one-of-a-kind fashion that shows understanding of the body and body movement, along with runway presence and overall suitability of the technique and/or materials.

Eligibility: This exhibit is open to all fiber artists.
Three pieces may be entered per artist. Works exhibited in previous Convergence conference exhibits are not eligible.

Submitted work is limited to works made using fiber techniques (interlaced, felted, stitched, dyed, coiled, knotted, pulled, spun, etc.) and can be of any material. All work must be of exhibition quality, completed within the last two years (since January 2012), and not previously published in any national or international print publication prior to the entry deadline.

Work executed under classroom/educational guidance or supervision is not eligible.

For each entry, send an 8 inch x 8 inch (20.3 cm) square touch panel with edges finished neatly and ready for display. An identification tag needs to be attached to the back of the square. Entries submitted without a square touch panel will not be considered.

Entry Fees: $25 HGA member, $40 non-HGA member, Student (attach copy of student ID from accredited educational institution), no fee. Payment in U.S. funds by check or money order or charge to credit card.

Description: The Target Gallery and the March of Dimes are teaming up to raise money for both organizations with the appropriate title, “March Madness.” This exhibit is open to all artists with the requirement that the work is created on 10x10 inch wood panels provided by the Target Gallery. The $15 entry fee guarantees entry into the exhibit, one wood panel, a chance for jurors’ awards, and free entry with one drink ticket to the Art Party on March 16th. There is a limit of 3 entries per artist.

Entry Dates: Pick up your panel between January 2 - February 17, 2012

Upon receipt of the $15 entry fee, the gallery will provide the artist with a blank, 10” square, wood panel. The artist will need to pick the panel up at the gallery between 10am to 6pm. Completed artwork must be brought back to the gallery between February 20 - 26th, from 10am to 6pm, to be included in the exhibit. All artwork must be created on the panels provided by the gallery.

Judges’ Awards & Best of the Rest: Four awards will be given at the Art Party on March 16. Three judges will each choose their favorite piece. The gallery will award prizes to the winners. The audience at the Art Party will have an opportunity to select their favorite piece to receive a Best of the Rest Award.

Directions for Entry
1. There is a non-refundable fee of $15.00 per entry (limit 3 entries per artist).

3. A completed panel must be returned to the gallery between February 20th - 26th, from 10am to 6pm. All entries must have been concieved and created by the artist submitting the work. All work must by finished, dry, and ready for exhibit.

Guidelines
All work will be sold for $150 ($100 during the Art Party) and all proceeds from sales will benefit the Target Gallery’s 2012 outreach programming and the March of Dimes. The artist will not receive a commission for the work sold. The Target Gallery reserves the right to reproduce images for all media and publicity purposes.

The annual Women in the Arts show highlights talented women artists of Missouri. In conjunction with Women’s History Month at the University of Missouri, the Craft Studio presents this exhibit as a tribute to women, past, present, and future whose artistic creations are often overlooked and forgotten.

Eligibility
The 18th annual Women in the Arts show is open to all of Missouri’s female residents who are 18 years or older. Artworks selected for the show will include both professional and student work.

•• No more than three pieces may be submitted per artist. No more than one piece per artist will be selected for the exhibit.
•• All work must have been completed within the last two years.
•• Artwork previously submitted or exhibited in the Craft Studio Gallery will not be considered.

Entry Fee: This fee is non-refundable.
•• MU STUDENTS: one piece for $15; two or three for $30
•• PUBLIC/COMMUNITY: one piece for $20; two or three for $40

Juror
Patti Shanks is an Assistant Professor at The University of Missouri, where she received her M.F.A. in 2005.
