DRAWN The Second Annual International Exhibition of Contemporary Drawing

Deadline: February 27, 2015 {ONLINE}

D R A W N
The Second Annual International Exhibition of Contemporary Drawing

Manifest Creative Research Gallery and Drawing Center
Cincinnati, OH
April 17, 2015 to May 15, 2015

Manifest was founded in-part to stand for the importance of drawing as a process, skill, and discipline, and as a continuing viable product of the creative fine art and design fields.

In honor of the original spirit of the founding ideals of Manifest, the gallery launched DRAWN as a new annual exhibition project. DRAWN seeks to survey and present the broad scope of drawing being made today.

DRAWN calls for artists to submit works of drawing in any media relevant to the practice (including non-traditional approaches), any style, and any genre (fine art, illustration, design, conceptual, realism, etc.).

This exhibit has no predefined expectation for type or style of work to be considered or selected. Submissions can range from the most traditional to the most conceptual or experimental. The only criteria beyond excellent quality is that works must qualify as drawing, including that which tests the boundaries of the discipline.

ELIGIBILITY
DRAWN is open to everyone. Professionals as well as students are encouraged to enter. The only limitation is that entries must represent original works which qualify in some considerable way as drawing.

MEDIA
Open to any and all traditional and non-traditional visual arts media applicable to the practice and discipline of drawing.

Manifest's carefully assembled juries change from project to project, and as a body have no collective predisposition towards any particular kind or style of art.

ENTRY FEE
$36 for up to three entries submitted. $10 per each additional entry. Fees are non-refundable. Number of entries is unlimited.

JURY AND CURATOR
Manifest's selection process involves a complex two-part system. This exhibit will be juried by an anonymous 5-9 member panel of professional and academic advisers with a broad range of expertise relative to art and design. The jury will then pass along their recommendations to the exhibit curator who will make the final selections from the jury-approved pool.

Main Street Gallery: Call for Artists & Curators

Deadline: February 27, 2012 (RECEIVE)

Call for Artists & Curators
Main Street Gallery

Ketchikan, AK
2012-2013 Season

Artists are invited to submit proposals for solo or group exhibitions of their work for the 2012-2013 Season (Sept. 2012 - Aug. 2013) of the Ketchikan Area Arts & Humanities Council’s Main Street Gallery.

Curators are invited to submit proposals to curate a group exhibit based on unique themes or genres.

In evaluating proposals, the Gallery Review Panel shows preference for proposals by emerging and established local artists, group displays by students or community artists, and curators who propose exhibits that engage and challenge artists and viewers. Preference will be given to artists who have not shown in the gallery in the past two years. Artists and curators are encouraged to give a public demonstration, lecture or slideshow at the Main Street Gallery while their exhibit is on display.

Proposals are recommended by the Review Panel to the Gallery Committee and approved by the KAAHC Board of Directors. The Gallery season is September through August, excluding December, February, and August. If you have a particular exhibit month in mind, please indicate this in your cover letter and the Gallery Committee will try to accomodate you.

Exhibits open on the first Friday of each month and close on the last Friday of their month; KAAHC receives 25% of all sales.

Artists and curators selected to exhibit at the Main Street Gallery are required to be KAAHC members. Please be aware that the gallery is a multi-use space and is used for various community gatherings- your work may be moved to accommodate functions.
