Transmission Gallery invites submission of small-scale assemblage or found object sculpture and/or wall mounted assemblage artworks for exhibition in Oakland, California, April 25 – June 8, 2024.  3D artwork up to 7 inches wide x 7 inches deep x 8 inches high. Wall pieces up to 7 inches high x 7 inches wide. Accepted artwork must be for sale and may be priced up to $900.

Application Requirements
  • Artists nationwide are invited to participate.
  • Work must be original to the submitting artist, ready to display, and must include found objects/found materials.
  • 3D artwork may not exceed 7 inches wide x 7 inches deep x 8 inches high. Wall pieces may not exceed 7 inches high x 7 inches wide and must be properly prepared for hanging.
  • Artists are welcome to provide a statement, although it is not a requirement.

Note: Accepted work must either be sent by UPS to a special mailing address or hand delivered to the Gallery. (See website/call for complete instructions.)

Fees: $35 for up to 4 pieces/images.

Since the fall of 1964, Festival in the Park has brought Charlotteans from all walks of life together to enjoy arts, crafts, music and family entertainment.  With the mission of bringing the community together by celebrating the arts, the Festival Board is excited to broaden its reach and to announce a spring fine arts event, the Kings Drive Art Walk.

We invite you to participate in our spring event which will be held along the Little Sugar Creek Greenway, a reclaimed natural waterway between East Morehead Street and Pearle Park Way Bridge along Kings Drive. With a focus on fine and emerging artists, our spring festival on this beautiful and easily accessible venue is an annual fine arts outing!

The KDAW festival is located on the King's Drive section of the Little Sugar Creek Greenway, a beautiful public space that is open to all in the community.

The Craftsmen's Guild of Pittsburgh extends an invitation to fine arts and craft exhibitors to apply to participate in the 46th annual A Fair in the Park. This is a weekend long fair, September 11, 12, and 13, 2015 held in Mellon Park, in Shadyside of Pittsburgh, PA.


Rules on Participation (truncated)

1. All booths must be set up for the full length of A Fair in the Park.
2. All work must be conceived, designed, and executed by the participating artist. The artist whose work is on exhibit and for sale must be present for all three (3) days of the show.
3. Images of artwork and the short bio/artist’s statement will be posted on the A Fair website, and may be used for promotional purposes.
4. Only artists who have been accepted in the jewelry category may display or sell jewelry of any kind during the Fair.

Founded in 1967, the Wyoming Arts Council is a state agency that forges collaborations with artists, arts organizations and communities through grants, technical assistance and promotion. Each year the Wyoming Arts Council awards up to three $3,000 fellowships in the visual arts. In addition to the three recipients, each panel may select honorable mentions. Panelists may choose not to award the number of fellowships or honorable mentions available.

Recipients of the visual arts fellowships exhibit their work in the Wyoming Arts Council Biennial Exhibit, held every two years at a major visual arts institution in state.

The Wyoming Arts Council invites Wyoming artists to apply for its 2014 Visual Arts Fellowships. Fellowships honor the work of Wyoming visual artists that reflects serious and exceptional aesthetic investigation. Artists working in any of the following media are welcome to apply: experimental (conceptual/new media), graphic (printmaking/book arts), painting, sculpture, installation, photography (includes experimental, color, black & white, photocopy and computer), clay, fiber, glass, leather, metal, paper, plastic, wood, mixed media, film or video.

Fellowship judging will be anonymous. Decisions are based solely on the merit of the work submitted. Work is viewed electronically. Out of state jurors are chosen to represent a wide range of stylistic and aesthetic concerns, a broad understanding of contemporary visual art, and ethnic, gender and age diversity.

Artists may submit up to ten work samples, of which up to two may be “detail” images, if appropriate. Film/video applicants may submit up to 6 samples, and have the option to submit stills.


Eligibility
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have been domiciled within the state borders for a total of 20 months in the previous two years
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have legal resident status (evidence of U.S. citizenship, resident status and state residency may be required).
  • Must register with the Artist Image Registry
  • May not be affiliated with the Wyoming Arts Council either as a board member or staff member, including their families, whether full-time, part-time or contractual.
  • May not be an employee of the Department of State Parks and Cultural Resources.
  • Must remain a Wyoming resident for at least one year after award, living in the state for at least 10 months of the year
  • Must not have received a fellowship within the last four years
  • May receive a total of two fellowship awards in their lifetime

Rules and Conditions (truncated)
  1. The theme of the challenge is Nautical. The quilt should be your interpretation of this theme.
  2. Participants must use at least 75% of the challenge fabric on the front of the quilt. The Challenge fabric must be a part of the main design, not in the borders or bindings, and must remain unchanged in anyway, ie not overdyed, bleached, frayed, or covered with sheer fabric.
  3. There is no limit to the number of fabrics you may use. Embellishments such as beads, embroidery, ribbons, lace etc may also be added.
  4. Any shaped quilt is accepted so long as the maximum length on any side so no more than 80cm (31 1/2 in). This includes the length of tassels or any embellishments that are hanging off the edge of the quilt.
  5. Your entry must be a quilt (3 layers held together with stitching or tied).
  6. The quilt must be solely the work of the entrant. Please acknowledge the designer if it is not an original design.
  7. The name of the quilt and your name must be on the back of the quilt. Please include a hanging sleeve approx 10cm wide but do not send a hanger.
  8. An artist statement of approx 30 words must be included with your Entry Form.
  9. All quilts will be judged by West Australian Quilters Association accredited judges.
  10. Closing date for entries is 10th March 2014. Quilts must arrive on or before this date with Entry Form attached.

The quilts will be on display at our quilt show to be held at Stirling Street Arts Centre, Bunbury on 29th & 30th March 2014. Quilts may travel to be exhibited at other venues and will be returned to entrants as soon as possible after the displays. Ins

Wine Country Quilts biennial exhibition showcases the work of quilt makers up and down the East Coast of the North Island of New Zealand.

General: (truncated)

» Entry is open to East Coast Quilters from Gisborne to South Wairarapa.
» Entries must have been finished since April 2010
» Entries must be predominantly fabric and made up of three layers: top, batting and backing
» All parties who work on the quilt must be named.
» Inspiration or design source must be acknowledged on the entry form

» One entry form per quilt
» Insurance is the responsibility of the exhibitor at all times
» All entries will be accepted and we will endeavour to hang all quilts. However some may be draped over props i.e. quilting frame, bed, etc.
» The entrant will choose which category the work is to be judged in, however, if unsure tick box on entry form and committee will discuss with you.
» A 10% commission will be added to the sale price of all quilts for sale.
» The Judges decisions shall be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
» The committee reserves the right to not award a prize in any category if it sees fit.

Categories

Traditional: a pattern or design with an established history in the quilting tradition.
Contemporary: a design with fundamental deviation from traditional patterns and sets.
Group Quilt: a quilt pieced/appliquéd by two or more people
Pictorial: quilt showing recognizable scene or picture
Child’s Quilt: quilt made for a child
