The nineteenth in the series of international juried competitions dedicated to promoting the contemporary quilt by serving as a showcase for NEW work ) that provides the viewer with an appreciation of the variety of techniques and innovative trends in the medium of layered and stitched fabric.
The jurors will select works that represent unique approaches to the medium and demonstrate the breadth and diversity of contemporary expressions. Visitors to Quilt National ’15 will see that the time honored traditions are thriving and are being expressed in new forms as today’s artists rise to meet the challenges of new techniques and materials.
RULES AND REQUIREMENTS
AUTHORSHIP
Artist must be 18 years or older. All work must be the result of independent effort. Work cannot be created for or the product of an instructional setting in which another artist or teacher has provided guidance and/or suggestions. The work must be an original design, not a copy or a variation on the original design of another artist working in any medium.
ENTRY FEE
A non-refundable entry fee of $45.00 (forty-five US dollars) will accompany the entry submission. This fee includes the entry fee and the online submission of the full view and detail image of up to three quilts.
DATE & PUBLIC EXHIBITION OF WORK
All entries must be NEW work – completed after September 1, 2012.
MATERIALS
The work must possess the basic structural characteristics of a quilt. It must be predominately fabric or fabric-like material and MUST be composed of at least two full and distinct layers – a face layer and a backing layer. The face layer may be described by any or a combination of the following terms: pieced, appliquéd, whole cloth, stitched/fused to a foundation. The face and backing layers must be held together by hand- or machine-made functional quilting stitches or other elements that pierce all layers and are distributed throughout the surface of the work.
At least some of these stitches or elements should be visible on the back of the work. As an alternative, the work may be a modular construction (an assemblage of smaller quilts). Each individual module, however, must meet the above structural criteria.
Over $6000 in prizes will be awarded.
JUDGING CRITERIA
Work will be judged on originality, design, technique, and craftsmanship. Jurors will select no more than one work by an artist. Preliminary acceptance will be granted on the basis of the digital image submission. Final acceptance will be granted after a jurors’ representative has examined the work itself. Approximately 85 works will be selected for display at The Dairy Barn Arts Center from May 23—September 7, 2015.

Requirements
- Work submitted must be innovative and original in design. Work derivative of other artists or work created in a workshop with the aid of an instructor is not acceptable.
- Open to all professional artists working in clay, fiber, glass, metal, wood and/or mixed media crafts.
- Collaborative work is accepted. Please include all artists’ names on the on-line application.
- Work must be a personal expression of the artist’s intent.
- Works submitted must have been completed after January 1, 2012.
- Some size restrictions apply. Please contact WAC if you have an excessively large and/or complex installation.
- Art work must be available for sale during the length of the exhibition.
- We reserve the right to omit from the exhibition accepted artwork that differs dramatically from what is represented by the digital image submitted.
Entry Fee: $40 for up to two artworks.

A competitive show comprised of 200 exhibitors, Craftboston Holiday is a presented at the Hynes Convention Center.
HOW TO APPLY
There is only one application and one deadline to apply to both Craftboston Spring and Craftboston Holiday. Artists are prompted to select one or both shows as they complete their application.
Artists are asked to please submit a total of five (5) digital images that best represent their work. Work will be juried based on originality, execution of design, technique and craftsmanship, creative use of materials, and aesthetic qualities.
RULES FOR PARTICIPATION (truncated)
Craftboston strongly encourages both established and emerging artists to apply. Artists who are new to Craftboston will receive special signage and recognition in the program guide and on the show website.
Before applying, please make sure your work meets the following criteria:

- All work must fit within an acceptable media category. Acceptable media categories include: baskets, ceramics, fiber decorative, fiber wearable, furniture, glass, jewelry, leather, metal, mixed media, paper, and wood. All work must be original and made by hand or with the use of appropriate tools. Craftboston encourages one-of-a-kind and limited edition work.
- Artists are accepted for participation must be in attendance at their booth during the entire show.
- Collaborating artists are permitted, however, any representation other than a true, hands on artistic collaboration is not permitted.
- Artists may only show work in categories selected by the jury. All work exhibited must be of the same body, quality, and category of work that was juried through digital images.

Visual artists with professional curricula vitae are invited to submit exhibition proposals for the Rotunda Gallery’s 2014 schedule. To provide as many artists as possible with an opportunity to exhibit, artists will not be awarded Rotunda Gallery exhibitions in consecutive years.
Located on the ground floor of Kitchener city hall, the Rotunda Gallery features month-long, self-curated exhibits of original work by outstanding visual artists. The gallery program supports professional contemporary practice in the visual arts. To promote the development of visual arts in our region, applicants from Waterloo region are given preference, but artists’ applications from other Ontario localities may be considered. The Rotunda Gallery is a member of the Ontario Association of Art Galleries (OAAG). The city announces exhibit openings to the media, and welcomes vistors to the gallery seven days a week.
Gallery Space
The Rotunda Gallery is a unique exhibition space. Its curved, wooden hanging wall includes a 48’ picture rail and 48” of vertical hanging space above a wall-length bench where visitors linger. The gallery is ideal for the display of two-dimensional art work hung using the existing suspended rod picture rail. Artwork must be suitably prepared to work with this hanging system. Artists are expected to visit the gallery to familiarize themselves with the space and its hanging hardware.

MFA invites all artists residing in the United States, Puerto Rico and Canada to enter its 10th Annual Small Wonders competition. Any 2D or 3D work following entry guidelines will be considered by the juror. The selected works will be on exhibit in the MFA’s Circle Gallery.
Entries:
1. All work must be priced for sale or marked POR (price on request). Works previously exhibited in a juried show at Circle Gallery are not eligible.
2. Submit one JPEG image per piece entered, or as allowed.
Size Limitations:
2-D work: Measurements must include the outside edges of the artwork, including any frame, and cannot exceed 11” on any one side.
3-D work: Measurements cannot exceed 7” in any one direction.
Entry Fees:
A maximum of 6 original works created within the past 3 years may be entered.
1 or 2 entries $35 (MFA members $20). Additional four entries $5 each.
Entry fees are non-refundable.
