Theme
: All entries shall be inspired by or depict the unique desert natural beauty or cultural history of Joshua Tree National Park.


The first Joshua Tree National Park Art Show & Faire will be held in Twentynine Palms, CA, December 6-7-8, 2013, featuring a three-day art faire and a month-long juried and judged art show. The goal of the event is to broaden the national and international reputation and image of Joshua Tree National Park, Twentynine Palms, and the Joshua Tree Gateway Communities as a desirable destination for art, culture, natural beauty, wide open spaces and outdoor recreation. The event is designed to attract visitors and to enhance the local economy.

Events: Three-day art show and faire featuring a juried and judged art exhibition, opening reception and awards, artists' booths, art store, workshops, demonstrations, youth activities, art party with live music, food and beverages.

Place:

The historic Oasis of Mara in Twentynine Palms, visited by desert travelers for 9,000+ years.

Prizes: The juried and judged art show will offer up to $6,000 in cash awards and ribbons.


Artists: Up to 50 artists from around the world, working in various visual arts media.

MEDIA: Original work created by the artist in the last five (5) years in 2-D or 3-D visual art media, including…
• Painting: Watercolor, goauche, oil, acrylic.
• Graphic Arts: Drawing, printmaking, computer generated art; chalk, charcoal, pastels, pencil, wax crayons; inks and washes applied by pen or brush.
• Photography: Color or black and white.
• Mixed Media: 2- and 3-dimensional works that incorporate more than one type of material in their production, including assemblage and collage.
• Sculpture: Including wood, metal, stone, glass, mosaics, ceramics, fiber, and recycled materials.
• Hanging artwork may not exceed 48” high, 48” wide, and 12” deep (including frame) and must be properly wired for hanging (no saw-tooth hangers). Plexiglas is recommended for shipping framed works on paper.
• Free-standing works must not exceed 50 lbs., 60” high and 36” wide, and must be free of sharp edges or material that could damage the gallery or harm viewers.


ENTRY FEE: $25 (USD) for 1 to 3 entries. One (1) art piece will be selected for the judged show from each artist juried into the show.

For the year 2014 the Handwerksform Hannover is planning to continue their textile design exhibition cycle. Following on from "Stoffe zum Traeumen / fabrics to die for" and "Koerperhuellen / body wraps" we would like to dedicate the opening exhibition in 2014 to modern knitting design and hereby invite to participate.

We are looking for work in the areas of fashion (clothing and accessories), living (carpets, plaids, cushions etc.) and object/installation. We would like to show work, which is contemporary and innovative or unusual in its design and choice of material.

The tender is international. It is open to professionally working applied artists, designers or craftsmen. Selection for participation in the Handwerksform Hannover takes place by a jury of experts. Application is based on the registration form and the submitted image material. We appreciate applications via mail.

The exhibition "The art of knitting" will take place from 25th of January 2014 to 22nd of February 2014 at Handwerksform Hannover. The closing date for applications is 16th of September 2013 (date of postmark is valid).

TERMS OF PARTICIPATION
Application: The tender is international. It is open to professionally working applied artist, designers or craftsmen. Selection for participation in the Handwerksform Hannover takes place by a jury of experts. Application is based on the registration form and the submitted image material.

Only printable digital image data will be accepted.

Costs: There is no participation fee. In case of exhibits being sold there will be a gallery charge wich amounts to 30% of the final retail price. The terms of participation are recognised with the written confirmation of participation; withdrawal is no longer possible.

Calling independent designers, artists, and crafters!

The Handmade Market is Saturday, November 10 at Cobblestone Hall. Cobblestone Hall is located in City Market / Moore Square in downtown Raleigh. It’s just across Moore Square park from Marbles Kids museum. The event runs from 11 am to 5 pm.

The Handmade Market is a juried event. Participating artists are chosen according to how well their work fits into the scope of The Handmade Market, how well the business and products are represented in the application, and the quality and originality of the products. Only accepted artists may participate in the show.


Fees
$15 application fee via Paypal after submitting your application. Your application is not considered complete until we receive the application fee.

Table Space, Fees, and Payment Deadlines

Tables: Accepted artists will reserve a 6 feet by 2.5 feet table with linens and 1 chair for $85.

Booths: Accepted artists will reserve a 10 feet wide by 8 feet deep booth space for $125. Electricity is available upon request for artists reserving a booth space.

International Quilt Festival/Houston, the largest annual quilt show, sale, and quiltmaking academy in the world, and SuperShuttle, the only nation-wide shared-ride transportation company, have teamed up to issue a special challenge to Festival attendees.

Submit a SuperShuttle-themed quilt block, and you could be chosen to win one of several prizes, in addition to having your block incorporated into the official 2011 SuperShuttle quilt! The quilt will be on display at International Quilt Festival/Houston (Nov. 3-6, with Preview Night on Nov. 2), and then hung at the company’s Houston office.

The prizes are as follows:
• Grand Prize—$150 cash
• First Place—$125 cash
• Second Place—$100 cash
• Third Place—$75 cash
• Fourth through Tenth Places—Complimentary round-trip airport/hotel SuperShuttle transportation for the 2011 Houston Festival only.

Quilt blocks should measure 9”x 9” (finished) or 9.5” x 9.5” (unfinished), and feature a SuperShuttle-themed design. Visit the SuperShuttle website at

Block submissions will be judged by representatives from International Quilt Festival and SuperShuttle. Blocks will be evaluated according to workmanship, creativity, adherence to the theme, and overall design.

Blocks should be the work of only one person, and each entrant may submit only one block. Entries must be sent to arrive no later than SEPTEMBER 16, 2011. Winners will be notified by SEPTEMBER 23, 2011. If your block is not a prizewinner, but one of the other 10 chosen for inclusion in the quilt, you will also be notified at this time.

Note: Quilt blocks will not be returned to the artist, regardless of whether or not they are chosen for inclusion.
