The Dogwood Arts Festival, in its 49th year, transforms downtown Knoxville into a month long springtime celebration with a “blue jean to black tie” festival offering something for everyone – dance, film, literary arts, music, theatre and visual arts. The Festival will showcase the talented performing and visual artists, our fine art institutions and the natural beauty of our region.
The Market Square Fair Eligibility
The Festival is open to all artists within the accepted medium categories. Collaborating artists may show only their collaborative works – both names should appear on the application.
Categories: Artists may apply in more than one medium, but must submit a separate application form, application/jury fee and images for each. Artists may exhibit only in the media for which they have been selected.

AWARDS: There will be one Best of Show Award, one Artists Choice Award, and one Honorable Mention Awards.
Awards will be announced on Saturday, April 18. Winners will be automatically accepted into next year’s show.
SUBMISSION AND DEADLINE: Artists wishing to exhibit work in more than one medium must apply separately and submit an application and application/jury fee for each medium. Completed application, four (4) images - a nonrefundable application/jury fee of $25.00 is due or must be postmarked by MONDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 2009.
BOOTH INFORMATION: The Market Square Art Fair is an outdoor venue. There are 65 booth spaces, five of which are held for returning award winners. Artists will be allocated a minimum of a 10’ x 10’ space for their display.
Artists may supply their own 10’ x 10’ canopy, display equipment, and rope to tie off weights.
BOOTH FEE IS $175.00 (this includes booth space, chair & table) and is due March 19, 2009.
