Women's Studio Workshop

Fall deadlines at the Women's Studio Workshop. WSW is a non-profit visual arts organization in Rosendale, NY, that offers professional opportunities to women at every stage in their artistic career. Residencies and fellowships are offered in hand papermaking, book arts, printmaking, and ceramic studios. All deadlines are postmark dates, application forms and program guidelines can be found on our website at www.wsworkshop.org.

Studio Fellowship, 4 - 6 consecutive weeks
WSW Fellowship opportunities are designed to provide concentrated work time for artists to explore new ideas in a dynamic and supportive community of women artists. Fellowships are awarded through a jury process. The fellowship is a partially-subsidized opportunity. Artists are given a studio orientation, but should be able to work independently.
Residency Dates: Jan - March, 2009; May - June 2009

Artist Book Residency, 8 - 10 consecutive weeks
These residency grants are designed to enable artists to print and bind a limited edition book work at WSW. Generally editions range between 100 and 50. Residency includes training on new equipments, introduction to new materials, and assistance with production, as well as a stipend of $2,000 to $3,000 for six to eight weeks, materials up to $750, access to all studios, travel costs (within the Continental US), and housing. Projects are chosen by a jury of outside artists and curators.
Residency Dates: January - March, 2009; May - June 2009
Art-in-Education Fellowship, 4 - 8 consecutive weeks
This opportunity is for artists with teaching experience and knowledge of intaglio, silkscreen, or hand papermaking who are interested in creating their own work while also working with local public school students. Fellows teach two days per week for three weeks. In exchange fellows receive housing and access to the studio of their choice (during open studio hours) for five weeks. Residency Dates: April 2010
