San Francisco Arts Commission Gallery

The Arts Commission Gallery is a program of the San Francisco Arts Commission, a City agency. Through exhibitions and special projects, the gallery presents a wide range of artistic disciplines, promotes artistic excellence, and communicates the centrality of art in everyday life.
ELIGIBILITY
The gallery focuses on works that reflect the broad diversity of San Francisco Bay Area communities. Artists who reside in the counties of Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, San Francisco, San Mateo, Solano, and Sonoma are eligible to submit proposals.
SELECTION PROCESS
The primary selection criterion is artistic excellence as represented by your slides or digital images. Applications are pre-screened and evaluated against selection criteria by our staff or a programming committee. The Visual Art Committee of the Arts Commission reviews all of the selected artists and exhibitions. The final selection and implementation of exhibitions is entirely within the Arts Commission’s discretion.
ARTIST NOTIFICATION
Artists will be notified by mail after the approval process is complete. This process takes at least 4-6 months to complete. If you are selected for an exhibition, the gallery will retain all submission materials.
