Open to emerging artists working in New England and New York. All media. Between 12 and 20 artists will be selected for inclusion in the exhibition.

Juror for New England artists: David Gibson, Independent Curator, NYC

Slide Option:
Six 35 mm slides in thin frames, encased in plastic sleeve. Write the title, dimensions in inches, your name on each slide, and place a red dot in the lower left-hand corner. Include a brief artist statement with your name, address, phone, and email address printed in the top center of page. include SASE.

Digital Option:
A cd with six jpegs
(No smaller than 800x600 and no larger than 1600x1200)

Accepted applicants will be notified by phone and email by June 30, 2008. Non-accepted applicants will receive the return of their materials and notification by mail by July 15, 2008.

All work must be received by the gallery suitably framed and ready for hanging. Drawings, prints, and photographs must be framed under Plexiglas. The artist will be responsible for delivery to and pick up from the gallery OR will be responsible for all freight both to and from the gallery, as well as to adhering to all deadlines and schedules.

All works accepted will be insured while on the gallery premises.

Hampden Gallery has a reputation as a launching pad for emerging artists working in all disciplines. Its active programming schedule runs throughout the academic year and features solo, group, and thesis exhibitions which are enhanced through opening receptions, artist talks, and workshops.

Hampden Gallery, located in the heart of the Southwest Residential Area, sports 14-foot high ceilings and a 32-foot running wall of glass that looks out to the pedestrian thoroughfare of the most populated residential area on campus. This unique architectural feature allows students and visitors a 24-hour view into an ongoing roster of intriguing new works by up and coming artists.
