Living with Beauty: Handwoven Textiles for the Home

Hagnauer Gallery, Business of Art Center
Manitou Springs, Colorado
June 13 – July 26, 2008

Textile artists are invited to enter an international juried exhibit specifically focusing on fine handweaving for the home. Weavers today are communicating their vision, mood and hand with work that fills our homes with color, texture, space and light.

Eligibility

Open to U.S. and International Artists.

Entries must be handwoven by the artist for use in the home interior, be of original design, and be finished objects (not yardage). Traditional and non-traditional fibers, structures, and designs may be used to weave both decorative and utilitarian textiles, including but not limited to wall pieces, rugs, table linens, towels, and baskets.

All items must be woven by hand. This includes loom and off-loom woven textiles and items made with basketry techniques. Other fiber techniques may be incorporated, as long as the major portion of the work is handwoven.

Entries must have been completed within the last 2 years, not executed under supervision or using a kit, and not previously exhibited.
