Dancing Hands: Fiber Arts at the Springfield Museum

Dancing Hands is a juried exhibit of fiber art at the Springfield Museum in Springfield, Oregon. Dedicated to promoting the innovation and workmanship of fiber artists living in Oregon and Washington, this exhibition will showcase the excellence of contemporary fiber art in the Pacific Northwest.

Eligibility: Open to all Fiber Artists living in Oregon and Washington. Artists may submit contemporary fiber art; other media and techniques may be incorporated. All works, except basketry or other small, portable pieces, must be able to be hung on a wall. Works must be original* and completed since January 1, 2006.

Application: $20.00 for three works; $5 for each additional work entered. Make check payable to the Springfield Museum. We will not be accepting slides. All images must be on a CD in jpg format. For each work entered, submit two digital images, one full view and one detail. CDs will not be returned. Entry form, correct fee, SASE and CDs must be postmarked by August 20, 2008.

Selection: The jury will review submitted digital images for workmanship, overall artistic quality and process of qualified artists and select the works to be exhibited.

Notification: Artists will be notified by email of acceptance by September 9, 2008. Artists not accepted will be notified by mail after that date. If you are accepted, you will be asked to submit additional information and an artist statement. We reserve the right to reject entries that were not accurately represented by the images.
