Each entry must be of a subject matter identified with one of the 17 State Parks in the Mendocino district.

Art will be judged on the basis of artistic merit, originality of vision, quality of execution and appropriateness to the theme of the contest.

Artists should reflect on a variety of subject matter, including landscapes and seascapes, close-up subjects, wildlife, historical or Native American themes, and people in park settings.

Eligibility: Open to all artists, professional or amateur, living within or outside of the county of Mendocino.

Categories:
1. Drawing: Includes pencil, pen & ink, charcoal, etchings, woodcuts/block prints and etchings. No giclées or digital prints.
2. Painting: Includes oil, pastel, watercolor, acrylic, alkyd, collage and serigraph.
3. Photography: Includes digital.
4. Other: Includes any other media - jewelry, textiles, terracotta, sculpture, 3-dimensional artwork, felted wool, etc. as long as the subject matter can be identified with a specific State Park in the Mendocino District

Entry Fees: The non-refundable entry fee for each entry is $40. Artists may enter as many pieces as they choose, with each piece requiring a separate entry fee and a separate entry form.

Judging: There will be a five judge panel.

CASH PRIZES in each of 4 categories:
1) Drawing; 2) Painting; 3) Photography; 4) Other

GRAND PRIZE: $1,000
SECOND PRIZE: $ 400 THIRD PRIZE: $ 100
Honorable Mention when applicable – Certificate

Traveling Show: The 12 prize-winners and other selected artwork will comprise a traveling show which will tour Mendocino County from May 2010 through August, 2010.
