Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts offers up to sixty juried residencies per year to working visual artists, writers, composers, and interdisciplinary artists from across the country and around the world. Application deadlines are March 1 and September 1 annually. The Center does not discriminate on the basis of disability, sex, age, race, religion, or national origin.

Residencies are available for 2 to 8 weeks stays. Each resident receives a $100 stipend per week, free housing, and a separate studio. The Center can house up to five artists of various disciplines at any given time.

Visual artists work in one of three studios, two of which are approximately 425 square feet and one that is 258 square feet. Studios are outfitted with work tables, running water, and storage shelves. Limited handtools, a table saw, a scroll saw and painting easels are available. Upon request, artists can access the Harry Duncan Letterpress Studio located onsite. This studio is equipped with a Sp15 Vandercook Proof Press, a 16"x12" boxcar base for adhesive plates, a variety of furniture and fonts, and select inventory of printmaking tools and inks.
