Skirball Cultural Center Exhibition Proposal
Deadline: (ONGOING/UNSPECIFIED)
Exhibition Proposal
Skirball Cultural Center
Los Angeles, CA
The Skirball seeks to originate exhibitions that enrich community and address the human experience in ways that are welcoming, inclusive, memorable, and engaging. All of the exhibitions that we present relate to the Skirball’s mission of exploring the connections between 4,000 years of Jewish heritage and the vitality of American democratic ideals. We present exhibitions that look comparatively at diverse cultures and make a significant contribution to education, civic dialogue, and cross-cultural understanding. Relevant topics might include archaeology, anthropology, ethnography, contemporary art, fine art, photography, Jewish cultural heritage, and Americana.
Your exhibition proposal must include the following information:
•A brief description of the proposed exhibition specifying the scope of the installation as planned and a suggested checklist if available—Please include a statement of how the exhibition relates to the Skirball’s mission.
•For fine arts, an artist’s statement about the work and a curriculum vitae, as well as any relevant catalogs or articles on the work
•Images of selected works to be included in the exhibition—Digital files are accepted by e-mail.
All proposals are reviewed by an exhibitions committee and a response will generally be sent within three months of receipt. If you would like materials returned to you, please let us know when you submit the proposal and include a self-addressed envelope.
