Call for Exhibit Proposal
Solo or Small Group Shows
The Delaplaine Visual Arts Education Center

Housed in a former flour mill, the Delaplaine offers five galleries on two floors that showcase solo and group exhibitions on a rotating basis. Exhibit receptions are held on the first Saturday of each month.
The Delaplaine seeks proposals on an ongoing basis for shows in five galleries as well as schools and community groups for the Community Art Wall. Proposals for large group, small group, and solo shows are reviewed by an exhibit selection panel and are scheduled two years in advance.
Proposal must include:
- A Power Point (ppt.) presentation.
- 6-10 digital images per artist, noting the title, media, dimensions and year produced on the image slide.
- A current, brief resume and bio on a ppt. slide.
- Individual TIFF or Jpeg images are acceptable.
- They may be on a disk or sent by email.
- Very large files should be sent in separate emails or burned onto a disk and mailed.
- Email a Word document
- title, media and dimensions, bio and resume, focus of exhibit, etc.
- Slides on plastic film taken with a conventional camera must be converted to digital images
Work in all media will be considered, including installations, video and film.
Preference is given to artists living or working within a 75-mile radius of Frederick.
Fee: $30 A site visit to view gallery spaces is strongly recommended before making a proposal.
You may indicate a preference for gallery space, but final determination will be made by the Center staff based on Exhibit Selection Panel recommendation, scheduling and space availability.
