"MASQUERADE" National Juried Exhibition

Evoke the sinister, the festive, the macabre, the jubilant, the mischievous, with “Masquerade.” Help us create a virtual masquerade ball at Arc Gallery. Interpretations include: disguise, facade, pretense, false outward show, Mardi Gras, Venice Carnevale, Halloween, a masked party or dance. Artists are encouraged to push the envelope with this theme.
CATEGORIES ACCEPTED
Sculpture, painting, drawing, photo, printmaking, ceramics, assemblage, collage, mixed media, fiber art, artist book. This exhibition cannot accept jewelry, video, film, performance art, installation and works requiring an external electrical source.
ELIGIBILITY
Artists residing in the continental United States
ARTWORK MAXIMUM SIZE
2-Dimensional Work: Height 9 feet, Width 4 feet - including frame
3-Dimensional Work: Must fit pedestal sized 16” x 16” or take up no more than 4 feet of gallery floor space.
ARTWORK PRESENTATION
Artworks must arrive “ready to hang” and be presented professionally. Framed artwork must use black wood or natural wood frame. No color mats. No glass, plexi only.
JUROR: Jack Fischer
Jack Fischer is the owner of Jack Fischer Gallery at 49 Geary in San Francisco. His gallery exhibits work from a diverse group of artists that fall under the rubrics of “outsider, folk, contemporary, naive, visionary, self-taught, and intuitive.”
JUROR’S AWARD
A Juror’s Award ribbon and certificate will be presented to three works that express the most imaginative interpretation of the “Masquerade” theme.
