The Port Moody Arts Centre is pleased to announce two Artist in Residence positions for emerging and established artists in the Lower Mainland. The Arts Centre will host a year-long residency in ceramics and a new 10-week residency in visual arts to provide opportunities for local artists to develop their work.

The Visual Artist in Residence will operate in a large gallery space to enable them to explore and create new work. This residency will start on August 23, 2012, and carrythrough until November 10, 2012. The recipient of this position will be provided with the unique opportunity to engage with the public in an ongoing dialogu eabout their work throughout the residency.

More information on the Artist in Residence positions, as well as the application forms, can be found on the Port Moody Arts Centre’s website at pomoarts.ca. The deadline to submit applications for the Visual Artist in Residence is April 22, 2012 at 4pm.

The Port Moody ArtsCentre inspires creativity and supports the community’s interest in artsand culture. The centre provides over 300 art programs and music lessons annually, free gallery exhibitions, and special events such as the Wearable ArtAwards and the Port Moody Festival of the Arts.
