The PatternBase is A Chicago-based art-collective dedicated to inspirational textile design, fibers-related artworks, and the study of pattern.
The PatternBase is accepting submissions for our first book!
About the Book:
PatternBase will showcase a collection of designs from contemporary textile and surface designers internationally and will include interviews from a number of artists working within the textile and fashion industries today.
Who Can Submit?
Submission is open to all designers at any level, internationally.
Image Files: Submit 5-10 low-resolution images. If your designs are chosen for inclusion, you will be asked to send higher resolution images. Jpeg or PDF files only please, 72-150 dpi, no more than 600 pixels in any direction. Files must be titled with your last name, title of the piece and image number, in the format given below.
Examples:
1. "Randel_PillowTalk_01.jpg"
2. "Randel_PillowTalk_Detail_02.jpg"
Please include the following documents:
An image script listing the title, dimensions, and medium of each design submitted. (Captions for the pieces are encouraged, but optional.)
Artist statement, brief bio, and resume, or a link to your website/blog.
How To Submit:
Send your submissions via e-mail to: submit@thepatternbase.com, with "Your Name: Book Submission" in the subject line.
If you prefer, you may send entries via post. Include a SASE (self-addressed, stamped envelope) if you would like your entry materials returned. Please send only digital prints or a compact disc containing your images and documents. Do not send any original artworks, as we cannot be responsible for any damage or their return.
