NORTHEAST REGIONAL CONTEMPORARY FIBER EXHIBITION
Rochester Contemporary Art Center, an innovative and growing gallery in upstate NY, is partnering with SDA to present a juried exhibition of contemporary Northeastern U.S. fiber art, April 1 - May 7, 2011. The SDA Contemporary Fiber Exhibit will coincide with the FiberArt International exhibition at Rochester's Memorial Art Gallery. The two offerings will create a high profile for fiber art in the region. All types of 2-D and 3-D works are welcome, including sculptural work and installations.
Who May Enter: SDA members living in the Northeast United States (Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Maine and Rhode Island). Note: It is possible to join SDA at time of entry.
Entries may include or combine:
surface design
mixed media
felting
quilting
hand embroidery
knotting
weaving
knitting and crochet
fiber sculpture
basketry and/or handcrafted paper
