Craft Alliance is a non-profit arts center in St. Louis, Missouri, providing inspiration and education in contemporary craft to the entire regional community. Applications are currently being accepted for the 2010 Artist-in-Residence program at Craft Alliance in the Kranzberg Arts Center, in mid-town St. Louis. This program encourages emerging and mid-career artists by providing them a work space free-of-charge, access to a built-in audience and an opportunity to exhibit and sell their work.

The residencies give the public and students in Craft Alliance’s outreach and education programs the opportunity to learn about the techniques and processes involved in creating art with craft materials.

Residencies in clay, metals and fibers are available for 3, 9 and 12 months, beginning in June 2010. Each artist will receive a 180 square foot rent-free space equipped with internet access. Each studio opens onto a common area, and the artists will have access to state-of-the-art metals, clay, fiber and graphics studios and nearby water/sink facilities.

Artists will be selected based on the quality of their work, space availability and desire to interact with the public and arts community. Residency artists are required to be in their own studios a minimum of 20 hours during public hours of Wednesday – Sunday. The lower level Education Center is open to visitors during those times and the public is invited to interact with artists and purchase their work through Craft Alliance.

• Completed application form.
• 10 images of recent work (completed within the last two years) in one of the three available areas: small
metals, ceramics or fiber.
