The 18th biennial Stanthorpe Art Festival is scheduled to take place from the 26th February – 18th April 2010. Open to all artists with a postal address or agent in Australia, A first prize of $10,000 is to be awarded, with up to $20,000 of acquisitions to be made for the Southern Downs Regional Council Collection.
The judge for the 2010 Art Festival is John McDonald, Art Critic for the Sydney Morning Herald and Author of Art In Australia Vol1 - Colonisation to Federation.
THE CONDITIONS (truncated)
- Entries must be forwarded to the Stanthorpe Regional Art Gallery by Friday 20 November 2009.
- Entry forms must be accompanied by fees and images. Late entries will not be accepted.
- Two dimensional work should not exceed 1.5 metres in any dimension or 2.25 sq metres in total. Measurements of three dimensional pieces should not exceed 1 cubic metre in volume with a maximum height of 1.5 metres and a base area no more than 1m x 1m to a maximum weight of 30 kilos.
- Entry fee is $30.00 (includes GST) per artist. One entry only per artist. One entry means a selection of up to three artworks, as set out on the entry form. Entry fee is not refundable.
- All works must be for sale. The Stanthorpe Regional Art Gallery will retain 33¹⁄3% commission on any sales from the exhibition, including works acquired for the permanent collection.
