Oakville’s Sixth Festival for Fibre Arts

September 18, - October 4, 2009
The Festival continues its popular invitation for fibre arts interpretations of fine art linked to the festival year or to the Town of Oakville. Past re-creations have been by local fibre artists. Now, the challenge goes national. Fibre artists from across Canada are invited to join this tradition.
In relation to the year, Festival 2009 celebrates a FELINE theme.
2009 – NINE – NINE LIVES – CATS – FELINE IMAGES
What may be submitted:
Entrants are welcome to create their own image
or to interpret a cat painting by Oakville’s renowned Lyn Estall. See lynestall.com for her work.
ELIGIBILITY
* “nine lives” is open to all practitioners of textile media and technique across Canada.
* All works must be textile and/or fibre based through materials or techniques.
* Commercial kits and patterns are not eligible.
* All work must be completed after 2006.
* Size: No larger than 24” H x 24” W x 12” D and must be completely ready to install.
SUBMISSION INFORMATION
* Each Artist may submit up to three works.
* A non-refundable fee of $10.00 for each piece submitted, must accompany the entry form.
* All decisions made by the Steering Committee are final.
