Anything Goes-Miniature Quest

In Search of Small Treasures


Great works can come in small packages. Miniature Quest is for those who love to create on a smaller scale. Use any Robert Kaufman fabrics to construct your entry.

Prizes – Miniatures
First Place – Janome Jem Portable Sewing & Quilting Machine and carrying case, $250, 50 yards of assorted Robert Kaufman fabric and a 1- year subscription to The Quilter magazine
Second Place – $75 Superior Threads Gift Certificate, $150, and 30 yards of assorted Robert Kaufman fabric
Third Place – A collection of assorted EZ Quilting rulers, $100, and 20 yards of assorted Robert Kaufman fabric
Honorable Mention – 15 yards of Robert Kaufman fabric
Curator's Choice – 15 yards of Robert Kaufman fabric.


MINIATURE QUEST RULES
  1. Any fabric from any of the Robert Kaufman fabric line may be used.
    All fabric must be a Robert Kaufman fabric.

  2. Only one Miniature Quilt entry per person will be accepted.

  3. The Miniature Quilt can be of any shape. The combined total of all sides of the miniature quilt cannot be less than 32" nor greater than 72".

  4. The quilt must have a sleeve attached to the top back for hanging.
    The sleeve opening must be 3 inches wide after it is attached to the quilt, and
    must be attached in a way that it will not show when the quilt is hanging.


GENERAL RULES

  1. Judging emphasizes originality, creativity and innovative use of the selected fabrics, visual impact, and workmanship.

  2. To be considered for judging, entries must be able to be a part of a Robert Kaufman Exhibition through October 2008. Approximately 35 to 40 entries will
    be selected to travel. Winning entries will also be featured in The Quilter magazine.

  3. Your entry must be received by Margrit Hall at 129 West 132nd St., Los Angeles, CA 90061, only between June 9 and August 4, 2008. Entries received before June 9th or after August 4th will be returned. Notification will be made by Sept. 8, 2008.

  4. The entry must be accompanied by a $10.00 entry fee ($20 for foreign entries) and a signed copy of the official entry form. The entry form and fee must be included in the shipping carton. (Make checks payable to Margrit Hall)

  5. An identification label containing the same full name and address that appears on the entry form must be securely fastened to each entry in a way that is not visible during normal viewing (a paper label pinned to an item is not acceptable). The label should also contain the title of the entry.
