The Nancie Mattice Award for Emerging Artists 2007 is a juried competition sponsored by Dangenart Gallery. This first annual competition is devoted to discovery and introduction of new emerging artists to be included in a group exhibition. Works selected are solely based on their merit and originality, NOT the artists' experiences and credentials. This event will be open to all artists working in any media. Details of this competition and awards are listed as follows.

6 or more artists will be selected. - Gallery Representation and Promotion Awards
All winners are offered a free six-month representation period by Dangenart Gallery. Services include:
a. Internet Promotion: Winners will be featured for six months on the Dangenart Gallery web site, exposing the artist's work to all interested Internet viewers.
b. Internet marketing campaign to various international contemporary art galleries and to the private Dangenart Gallery art buyers list.
c. Monthly art reception hosted by Dangenart.
ELIGIBILITY
The competition is open to all artists, national and international, working in all media. All forms of painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, graphics, digital and installation art are eligible, except video art. Not-for-Sale work is acceptable. Winners must be willing to bear the shipping cost to and from the gallery on time for the exhibit. Entrants must be 18 years of age or older to qualify.
IMAGE PRESENTATION
Please do NOT send originals. Representation of images can be 35mm slides, prints up to 8.5" x 11" in size, or digital image files. Prints may be any format. Photographic, laser, ink jet are all acceptable.
- Digital Specifications: Digital image files may be submitted on a PC platform CD, or DVD. TIF or JPG format is also acceptable. Keep files to a maximum of 15MB please.
- Email submission: Email submission is accepted.
ENTRY FEE
There is a $30 entry fee (not refundable) for up to four slides, prints or digital image files; $5 for each additional.
NOTIFICATION
Artists will be notified of acceptance by January 20, 2007 . Notification will be made solely by email.
COMMISSION
There will be a 30% commission on any sales made during the exhibition or off the web site during the six-month representation period.
