"Put a Roof Over Our Head” Quilt Contest
Entry Deadline: POSTMARKED no later than May 15, 2006
Quilt Contest Rules
First Prize: Bernina Aurora 440QE (retail price $3699) sewing machine donated by Bernina of America. There will be one first prize given.
Second Prize: The Electric Quilt Company software package which includes EQ5, BlockBase, Town & Country, Judy Martin Stars & Sets, and the Karen Stone CD (retail price $261.80). There will be one second prize given.
Competition Theme: Put a Roof Over Our Head contest is to help celebrate The Alliance for American Quilts move to Asheville, North Carolina and to support the mission of documenting, preserving and sharing our great quilt heritage. Let your creativity run wild while using the house pattern and you have met the general theme for the worldwide Alliance for American Quilts competition. Entries can be traditional or art quilts that speak to the theme. Any techniques—piecing, appliqué, embroidery, whole cloth and/or manipulated fabric, etc.—may be used. Quilts are to be made especially for this contest. Any materials can be used. However, the final result must consist of three layers.
