East End Applied Arts

The deadline is April 29, 2006

East End Applied Arts, a contemporary applied arts gallery, announces a call for entries for the fall 2006 show, 'Cutting Edge' September 8 to October 28, 2006.

The gallery is looking for contemporary and innovative work that is functional or decorative and celebrates the use of fiber and/or paper as the primary materials. Up to 20 participants will be selected by the gallery owners. Judging will be done by Phyllis Rider, a well known local artist who uses fiber and paper in her work, and Deana Miller, the public art coordinator for the City of Aurora. A third judge, yet to be determined, will be a specialist in the fiber or paper arts.

All exhibited work must be for sale. Cash prizes will be awarded. Interested applicants will need to submit, by mail, 5 to 10 digital images (of work completed in the last 2 years) on a non-returnable CD with a corresponding list of the work giving dimensions, medium and retail price; a resume, an artist's statement and a non-refundable $25 application fee (check or money order) payable to: East End Applied Arts, 1556 Florence Street, Aurora, Colorado, 80010.
