We are pleased to announce that on 15.07 - 29.08.2010 in will be held on 8th Baltic Triennial of International Miniatures Weaving. We cordially invite professional artists to participate in the fabric this interesting event and submit their work.

Triennial Regulations and Application Form can be found below (for download). The deadline for submitting the form, including photographs of entries is 20/01/2010.

SELECTION REQUIREMENTS
Professional artists may submit max. 3 works, of which the jury will select one.

Please fill in the participation form in B L O C K L E T T E R S and send it with a good quality, 13 x 18 cm colour glossy photographs, enclosing a detailed description of display requirements, packaging and up and down markings. Photographs should be signed with name and surname of a participant and a title of a work.

Sending of participation form amounts to acceptance of regulations requirements. Not observing the regulations eliminates from participation in 8 Triennial.

The Bethesda Arts & Entertainment District is pleased to present the 2010 Bethesda Fine Arts Festival.

The festival will be held in the Woodmont Triangle area of downtown Bethesda, a lively neighborhood renowned for its restaurants, shopping, galleries and theatres. The Bethesda Urban Partnership, a non-profit organization that markets and maintains downtown Bethesda as well as manages the Bethesda Arts & Entertainment District, will manage the festival.

Eligible Work
All original fine art and fine craft is eligible, including but not limited to: jewelry, painting, drawing, photography, sculpture and furniture. All work must be created by the artist. No mass-produced, commercially manufactured work, or work manufactured from kits or molds are eligible.

Awards
A three-member panel of jurors will select award winners from on-site evaluation on Saturday, May 8. Winners will be announced on Sunday, May 9. Judges will receive instructions on how to correctly evaluate each exhibitor.

150 booth spaces are available. The Bethesda Arts & Entertainment District advisory committee will select artists.

Artists must be 18 years of age or older. Artists must be present throughout the festival. Artists may apply in more than one category; however, they may sell work only in the category in which they have been accepted. Reproductions of original work are permitted, but must be displayed in browse bins ONLY. No framed reproductions are allowed.

The festival will take place rain or shine. All artists must provide their own tent and weights.

The Lab is celebrating our 25th year as a non-profit arts organization, and we are pleased to announce our twelfth annual Postcard show. Everyone is invited to contribute a set of small format multiples-- whether that be a series of hand-made paintings or objects, or production run postcards. We're challenging artists to find new, exciting ways to use the postcard theme, and then from December 4th through 6th, we're opening our gallery as a cabinet of curiosities, and inviting viewers to experience the richness of the local arts community. We believe that collecting engaging, high-quality, beautiful artwork should be accessible to everyone.

Eligibility: Open to everyone. All media and processes welcome. Handmade, production run, whatever! All must fit in your box. Boxes provided by gallery when work is delivered.

Fees: $10 a box

Pricing: One of a kind work may be priced between $1 and $50. All multiples may be priced between $1 and $20.

Designer Maker West Midlands (DMWM) have created three residencies for West Midlands makers at The Art House. Art House is a national visual arts organisation and is housed in a landmark building designed to ensure outstanding access for disabled tenants and visitors. DMWM is inviting applications from mid-career and established designer makers who are interested in researching and developing their work and practice through this opportunity.

The three residencies will run for three weeks from 8 March to the 29 March 2010 (Monday to Monday) at The Art House, studio space and flat accommodation will be provided. The designer makers on the creative residency will be awarded a bursary of £750 for materials, maintenance and travel expenses and will be expected to keep a log/diary of their activities experiences on the residency. The three DMWM residencies will run simultaneously giving selected makers the opportunity to network and engage in discussion with each other about their practices. Selected designer makers will have the opportunity to talk to a mentor (an arts professional) about their work, ideas and plans before and after the residency.

This exciting opportunity offers practitioners time to research and develop their creative practice away from the normal distractions of their studio and home, including:

•time for reflection, developing new work and researching new ideas
•support and discussion with a mentor
•opportunities for networking and peer group support with other practitioners
•opportunities for visiting regional galleries such as the Yorkshire Sculpture Park and Leeds Art Gallery for inspiration and research
•a bursary of £750 for materials, maintenance and travel expenses

•have been practising as a maker for at least 4 years

ART342 is an artist-in-residency program in Fort Collins, Colorado. We offer free studio and living spaces to resident artists. We can accommodate visual artists, ceramicists, scholarly and creative writers, and composers. Applications are reviewed by an independent jury. Up to 5 artists are selected for each 15-week session. Residents are asked to donate work and/or services to the Fort Collins community.

ELIGIBILITY: The Residency Program is open to visual artists, creative writers, scholars in arts or aesthetics, composers, interdisciplinary artists, and collaborative teams. Applicants must show professional standing in their field. Both mature and emerging artists of promise are welcome to apply.

General Policies and the Site

At this time our studios are primarily designed for visual artists, ceramicists, and composers. We are not set up for welders, metal smiths, woodworkers, choreographers, and other media. We will consider creative and scholarly writers, although we may ask them to share a studio.

We will ask that residents give back to ART342 and/or the Fort Collins community. This could involve an informal work shop, a class, a donation of a piece, etc.

We may propose one 'open house' per session. Each artist can then decline to open their studio or be present.

At this time, each session lasts 15 weeks. We will consider accepting two applicants who can share a session without overlap.

We will award each resident a weekly stipend of $100. This may be used for supplies, or any other expenses as the resident prefers. At this time, we do not offer additional stipends for the residents who live on site.

We will supply each studio with a chair, work table, work sink and some shelving. Just let us know what additional furniture and equipment you require and we will do what we can. Studio Miles is equipped with a kiln for ceramicists. Studio Mingus will have an extensive set of electronic music composition gear.

Fort Collins, Colorado is located alongside the foothills of the Rocky Mountain range, about 60 miles north of Denver. It offers a wide range of outdoors activities, cultural events and many fine restaurants.

Designer Maker West Midlands (DMWM) is looking for three midcareer designer makers for ‘Future Forward 2’ a creative and market development programme.

Future Forward 2 is the second phase of an exciting mentoring programme tailored to the needs of mid-career designer makers from the West Midlands region. It offers mid-career designer makers (the mentees) the opportunity to be mentored by an arts professional who has knowledge and experience of designer makers practices and market opportunities. The aim is to support the artistic development, advance the quality of work and the ability to access new marketing opportunities of the selected mid-career designer maker.

The intention is for the mentor and mentee to work together to assist the mentee to develop their practice; making new work of artistic quality and to exhibit or engage with a project which will raise their profile regionally, nationally and/or internationally. The programme will provide focused discussion and regular one to one support (approx 9 x ½ days) from an experienced mentor over a period of 9-12 months.

The mentees will be awarded a bursary of £2100 for materials, promotion, marketing, travel expenses and will be expected to give a presentation at dissemination DMWM event.

Suitability

Applicants should fit into the following criteria:
• be designer makers based in the West Midlands
• practising as a designer maker for four years and beyond
• be able to make a commitment to the Future Forward 2 programme
• consider themselves to be at a mid-career stage
• have ambitious to be more critically engaged and/or aspire to be more innovative
• the work shows potential for creative progression and for positioning into new market opportunities
• already have an establish body of work which has been successfully marketed and/or sold regionally, nationally and possibly internationally
• have exhibited and sold at national fairs, outlets and shows
• have reached a level of recognition but find it difficult to more forward with their practice
• aspire to the development of new work and access new markets

THE WHOLE 9 YARDS, Off the Wall Gallery’s Fifth Annual Juried Exhibition, a co-production of Midwives Collective & Gallery, focuses on work that employs, or is conversant in, any textile, fabric or fiber media. At the jury’s discretion, selected work may be exhibited at either gallery.

SUMMARY STATEMENT: Through November 12, we are accepting submissions from 2d and 3d artists using and/or interpreting textile, fabric and fiber media. There are no size limitations but please use your judgment and knowledge of each space’s configuration. While commonly employed fabric media, such as canvas and paper, do qualify, the jury will give additional consideration to artists who actively work to elevate media; for example:

- Creating wearable or usable objects through fashion or industrial design.
- Hand-making original materials by weaving or bonding, re-using found objects, etc.
- Embellishing everyday objects with embrodiery, deconstructing or re-interpreting them, etc.
- Employing any of these processes and others as stand-alone art forms.
- Using video, audio or photography to interpret or illustrate these media.

WHO WE ARE: Off the Wall Gallery is one of Philadelphia’s first non-traditional art spaces. Our formal founding year is 1978 but our roots date back to the 1940s when Dirty Frank’s began inviting local art students to hang their work. The gallery embraces emerging artists, avant-garde forms, strong personal and political perspectives, and fresh ideas.

The Midwives Collective & Gallery is a 21st-century women’s collective formed for the purpose of fostering community art making, culture and the creation of art history by maintaining a public arena for the display and practice of innovative, emerging art.

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO: You may submit as many pieces as you wish at $5 per entry. Jurying will take place from digital images on CD, which can be submitted as either jpgs or tifs.

ACCEPTANCE & AWARDS: If your entry is accepted, you will be notified by email on or before November 21 and receive all contractual and logistical information at that time. Up to $500 in cash awards will be made at the jury’s discretion. The winner of the Mary-Rowe Memorial Best of Show Award may also be invited to participate in a three-person, two-month exhibition during 2010.

SALES: The artist understands and agrees that all work exhibited is for sale; no “NFS” or “POR” work is allowed. Instead, the prices of all works must be clearly stated and cannot be changed after acceptance. Off the Wall and Midwives will both encourage sales during the exhibition and will retain a 30-percent commission on all work sold.

Symbeadotic Gallery'S first Call for Entry.

The beadwork exhibit will open on June 10, 2010, Judy Garland's birthday. To both honor and celebrate the 70th Anniversary of The Wizard of Oz, Symbeadotic Gallery is please to announce its first juried beadwork exhibit entitled All Things Oz.

The deadline for entries will be March 1, 2010, that is when images and entry fees will be due.

Requirements
Entries must be original work completed after January 1, 2009.
Artists must be 18 years of age or older.
There is no size limitation, just remember you will have to ship it for photographs.
Entries should be at least 50% beaded.
There can be only one pair of Ruby Slippers, so if that is the direction you are going, make it good!

Selection
Work will be judged from digital images. Selections will be based on originality, creativity, construction.

Entry Fee
$10.00 per entry, no more than 3 entries per artist.

Cash Prizes
There will be cash prizes awarded.
The amount of the prizes will be determined by the amount of entries.
