Brenau University Galleries in cooperation with the Georgia Humanities Council is holding an open, juried textiles and fiber exhibition and sponsored oral history project entitled "Women's Work".

Fiber and textile artists residing in the state of Georgia are encouraged to submit 2-D and/or 3-D fine art pieces, garments and/or accessories that employ or are inspired by traditional "women's arts" including all types of stitchery, quilting, embroidery, crochet, tatting, knitting, weaving, felting, garment and household goods making .

* Entrants are asked to submit up to three pieces for consideration. One photo of the entire work and a detail photo are allowed for each piece. Photos should be 72 dpi. Artists must also supply a title and dimensions of each work as well as a brief artist's statement (less than 250 words) about their work and how it relates to the theme of the exhibition.

* Artists whose work is chosen for the exhibition may be asked to participate in the oral history project component of "Women's Work" which will include being interviewed about their work while being video recorded. This oral history component will be a part of the exhibition.

* Deadline for entries is March 30, 2014.

* Artists will be notified about chosen work by April 4, 2014. Work chosen for the show will be required to arrive at the gallery no later than June 30, 2014. There will be an opening reception and panel discussion for the exhibition on July 17, 2014. The show will run in the Sellars Gallery on the Brenau campus through September 12, 2014.
