British Quilt Study Group
The Quilters' Guild of The British Isles
October 2014 Seminar
The British Quilt Study Group has issued a call for papers for their 2014 seminar, Quilting Practices in the 20th Century.
BQSG invites submissions for original, previously unpublished research covering quilt or related textile study around the proposed theme for the 2014 Seminar on aspects of quilting practices in the twentieth century.
Suggested studies might be related to individual practitioners, particular fabric designers or the influence of the machine on twentieth century quilts. However, any interpretations of the title are welcomed.
Papers can be up to 7,000 words in length, and shorter papers between 2,000 and 3,000 words are also welcomed.
Abstracts for presentation at the BQSG seminar in October 2014 should be received by 30 November 2013. Please submit your abstract of approx. 400 words, outlining your area of research and indicating primary and secondary sources. Send your abstract to Ann Gibson, Administrator for the Research Panel at research@bqsg.org.uk by 30 November 2013.
Selected papers would be presented at the BSQG seminar to be held mid October 2014. Papers presented at the annual seminar will also be published in the well respected BSQG journal Quilt Studies.
