The Fiber Artists of San Antonio are pleased to announce a call for entries for the 2010 Annual Exhibition. Part of our mission is to promote and advance fiber art through the education of members and the public. This exhibition is an opportunity for fiber artists to exhibit their work, and for the larger community to gain a greater appreciation for fiber art.
Eligibility
Submissions must have been completed in the past 2 years.
Entry should be of original design and execution with a major focus on fiber or fiber techniques.
Collaborations are eligible.
Anyone residing in the state of Texas is eligible to enter the show.
Requirements
All items will be juried in person on October 11, 2009.
All entries must be for sale.
All entries must be able to remain hanging for the entire duration of the show.
All entries must be ready for installation, with an appropriate hanging rod or device. If special hanging and/or display instructions are required, they must be included with the work.
Each piece should be labeled on the back with the name of the artist and the title of the piece.
Pieces that do not meet these requirements will not be considered for display.
Entry Fee
The entry fee is $25 for FASA members and $35 for non-members. Up to five entries may be submitted.
Juror
The juror for the exhibition is Maggie Weiss, an artist and educator based in Evanston, IL. Her award winning art quilts have been featured in numerous magazines and books.
Awards
1st Place - $200
2nd Place - $150
3rd Place - $100
Most Innovative Use of Materials - $25
Sales
A 50% commission on all sales will be retained by the Gallery. Please keep this in mind as you prepare your entry forms. No changes to the price will be allowed after submission.
