Fall/Winter exhibition in the historic public corridors of City Hall.
 
Art In City Hall presents exhibitions that showcase contemporary artwork by professional and emerging Philadelphia area visual artists. Encompassing a variety of mediums, techniques, and subjects, this municipal program is committed to presenting a diversity of ideas and artistic explorations. The program strives to link visual artists with the larger community by providing the public with a greater knowledge and appreciation of their artistic achievements.

 
Theme: Artists are invited to submit examples of work to be considered for Toying with Art: Artist-Made Toys and Games for the fall exhibition at City Hall. Toys and games do not have to be functional, but must be original to the artist. Any toys and games that express inappropriate content of a sexual, violent or religious nature will not be considered. Submissions can be two
or three-dimensional and are limited to the dimensions of the display cases.

Media: Open to all artists in all media. Artwork must comply with the dimensions of the display cases, which are 84" H x 94" W x 24"D.
 
Rules for Entry:

Deadline for submission: Received by Friday, Sept. 21, 2007. Entry form must accompany your slides, digitals or reproductions from originals. No entry fee . Submit entries to address on entry form.

Submit up to four slides or reproductions. Include a current resume. Accepted artists will be asked to submit an artist's statement (in digital format if available). Submitted artwork may not have previously been exhibited at Art In City Hall.

Eligibility & Selection of Artists: Open to professional artists living or working in the Philadelphia area. Artists will be selected through slides, digitals or reproductions that address the exhibition's theme.
 
Selection and Installation of Exhibition: Only those artists who have been selected for the exhibition will be notified by phone. All work must be ready for installation (i.e., hooks, wires, etc). Artists are responsible for assisting with installation of works which require special attention or extensive demands of time.
Sale of Work: Art may be for sale, Art in City Hall does not take a commission.

Liability: Artwork will be insured once installed in the display cases in City Hall.
