Tea Four Two: A Feature Exhibition of Forty Two Exceptional Tea Pots

Deadline: February 15, 2007

Subject Matter
This will be a curated selection of 42 outstanding, contemporary, innovative tea pots in a variety of media from artists across Canada. Works are to be original, one of a kind and signed. Functionality is an option, not a requirement. If there are creamers and sugar vessels designed to accompany the tea pots, then submit them as well.

Entry and Selection
Submissions should be in digital format, high resolution preferred, e-mailed to info@petroffgallery.com. All submissions of work must be accompanied with an artist statement, identification of size, media, price, and any published articles for media packages. A maximum of 3 works will be chosen from any given artist.

Accepted works exhibit on a consignment basis only. The Consignment Agreement will be forwarded to you upon acceptance into the show.

Secrets to Dream On

Talisman Fibre Arts Studio Inc. in partnership with Rustic Cosmos Cafe and Gallery invites submissions from Textile/Fibre Artists and Mixed Media Artists using textile or fibre in their artwork.

Based on a 1920's photograph of 4 women, a best friends story has been written. They shared everything , but kept a few secrets for themselves. Your work will depict one of Beth's, Eleanor's, Marjorie's, or Blanche's secrets.

All works must be 16" X 12" in size, wall mounted and available for sale.

The exhibit will take place between May 1st, to June 30th, 2007 and will receive full exposure during this time between the hours of 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM.

Note: The Gallery will be closed for the Victoria Day Weekend!

The organizers will drive a full scale Marketing Campaign to bring your work to the attention of Collectors, Galleries, the Press as well as the Public at Large.

2007-2008 Wind Challenge Exhibitions at Fleisher

The Samuel S. Fleisher Art Memorial announces the call for entries for next season's Wind Challenge Exhibitions. This juried, regional competition, sponsored by the Fleisher Art Memorial in cooperation with the Philadelphia Museum of Art, has gained a national reputation for excellence since its establishment in 1978. Each season, Fleisher exhibits the work of twelve selected artists in four three-person exhibitions. These Wind Challenge Exhibitions encourage recognition of local talent and serve as an incentive for members of Fleisher's diverse student audience to move forward with their own creative work.

Eligibility
Artists living within a fifty-mile radius of Philadelphia and working in one of the following categories may apply.

Categories
Artists may select only one category in which to apply:

Painting: All applications of medium, excluding works on paper
Works on Paper: Drawing, watercolor, printmaking, and other traditional and experimental techniques on paper
Photography: All uses of the medium
Sculpture/Installation: We encourage applications in experimental media; however, our facilities limit what can be shown in video format.
Crafts: All crafts, including ceramics, glass, fiber, metals and wood

National Quilting Association Show

The National Quilting Association, Inc. has sponsored a quilt show and competition for 38 consecutive years. Entries are evaluated by a panel of three NQA Certified Judges. A printed evaluation form is returned for all entries. Ribbon awards are given at the discretion of the judges. A participation ribbon and commemorative quilt label are presented to all entrants.

Stretched Threads - April 7-30, 2007

Overview: This is an international exhibition of fiber artists who have stretched the threads beyond all expectations. From weavers to welders and quilters to painters, the field of fiber is being bent, folded, and manipulated into structures from wall hangings to 3-D structures, using materials as varied as dog hair, wire, plastic bags, computer circuitry and motion detectors as well as the more commonly used fibers such as cotton and wool. It's a brave new world for the fiber artist who can attain the stars by constructing a bridge out of anything within reach.

Atlantic Center for the Arts invites international fiber artists to submit portfolios for the juried review for the Stretched Threads exhibit at Harris House Gallery, 214 S. Riverside Drive, New Smyrna Beach, from April 7 through April 30, 2007.

The call is for fiber artists who have stretched the threads of their imaginations and their media to produce innovative art.

This will be an international group exhibition. There are no restrictions on size, media or subject.

Submissions

  • $20 entry fee with limit of three artworks
  • Two professional slides or digital images (300 dpi, 4"x6" jpeg images) for each entry (full view and detail). If 3-D work requires more views, please label the works view1, view2, view3. Slides must list artist, title, size, front & top. Jpegs should be labeled: lastname_title, size, view.
  • Artist's statement about the work
  • SASE (self-addressed, stamped envelope) for notification and return of slides

Inside SAM's Place 2007

Craftsouth is currently seeking expressions of interest from craft, design and visual artists who would like to undertake research and develop work for display in the South Australian Museum between March and September 2007.

Inside SAM's Place 2007 is a collaborative project between Craftsouth and the South Australian Museum (SAM) which follows on from highly successful programs held at the Museum between 2002 and 2006. The project allows for new ways of interpreting the SA Museum's collections whilst promoting public understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of South Australian craft, design and visual art.

REQUIREMENTS
Three artists / artist teams will be selected to be a part of Inside SAM's Place 2007. Each will receive a $2,000 (ex GST) fee to enable them to:

  • undertake 6 weeks research of the SA Museum's collections and processes;
  • develop work for display inside the SA Musuem;
  • deliver education activities to school children and the public.

    Conceived as a way to help young and promising designers with prototypes hook up with the ICFF's manufacturer attendees as well as the always news-hungry media, ICFF Studio makes the ICFF a truly practical venue for emerging talents.

    GLM and Bernhardt Design announce a call for entries – deadline December 15, 2006. ICFF Studio invites submissions from designers working on any and all the product categories exhibited at the ICFF: furniture, seating, carpet and flooring, lighting, outdoor furniture, materials, wall coverings, accessories, textiles, and kitchen and bath. Selected designers win a spot to display their prototypes at ICFF Studio, a group area with individual booths on the exhibition floor.

    Winners will be announced January 15, 2007.
