This exhibit is meant to express the excitement of movement regardless of the medium. Entries may be 2-D or 3-D, wall hung, suspended in space, supported by a pedestal, or free-standing on a floor.
If this sounds new to you, Kinetic Art is any medium that contains movement perceivable by the viewer or that depends on motion for it's effect. So show us your mobiles, or any art that has moving elements or gives the feeling of motion. This exhibit is for art that's GOT THE MOVES!
The ceiling in the Sara Braaten Gallery is over 17 feet high and the entrance lobby about 21 feet high. Therefore, it is possible to suspend hanging pieces that are fairly lightweight. There is a 35lb weight limit for art suspended from the ceiling.
Abstract, representational, whimsical, spiritual, real or fantasy.. Whatever you discipline, the common element is MOTION! Is it kinetic or a feeling that is expressed? 2-D or 3-D? Come join in the fun of this brand new exhibition at Bower Center For The Arts!
