Deadline: April 17, 2015 {ONLINE}
fiber577
The 577 Foundation
Perrysburg, Ohio
June 6 - 7, 2015
fiber577 is an annual two-day art exhibit that highlights fine art from a wide variety of contemporary fiber artists. Now in its eighth year, the annual fiber577 art show is held on the beautiful grounds of The 577 Foundation in Perrysburg, Ohio.
Our mission is to expose our local community to the most relevant regional artists who display exceptional creativity in the field of fiber and fiber-influenced mixed media, from the exquisitely crafted traditional to the groundbreaking experimental.
Participating artists will be eligible for several monetary awards, including Best of Show, 1st-3rd place, and People’s Choice. One artist will be selected as a Featured Artist and will be awarded a solo exhibit as part of the 2016 fiber577 show. Artists will again have the option to exhibit and sell their work at a post-show exhibit at the Angelwood Gallery in Grand Rapids, Ohio.
ELIGIBILITY
This show is juried and is open to all artists working in the fiber or fiber-influenced media.
SHOW REQUIREMENTS (truncated)
* Artists may submit up to 3 pieces per $16 entry fee (non-refundable).
* Work must be original to the participating artist (no kits/patterns or work completed in workshops) and completed within the last 3 years. Work previously displayed at The 577 Foundation will not be accepted.
* We invite you to submit pieces that showcase innovative interpretations of fiber materials and/or techniques. Other media and disciplines can be used as long as fiber content is somehow integrated or a traditional fiber application is referenced.
* All wall pieces must be ready to hang and include all display hardware (ie appropriately sized slats/rods if needed). Sculptural/3D art will be displayed on available pedestals and tables at the committee’s discretion.
