The FugScreens Residency Program provides equipment and space for artists who wish to develop a body of screen-printing work, but lack the resources to do so independently.

Residents have scheduled access to the studio however FugScreens is unable to offer 24 hour access to the facilities due to legal restrictions on the building site. FugScreens staff will also be available to provide guidance and feedback.

Interested persons may fill out an application online. Proposals may be for a traditional edition of screen prints, textile work or a less conventional use of the medium. The resident will be expected to meet periodically (established at the beginning of the Residency) with Zissou Tasseff-Elenkoff, Director of FugScreens to share ideas and works in progress.

At the conclusion or the residency, an optional reception displaying the work will be hosted by Fugscreens Studios. FugScreens hopes to encourage emerging Chicago artists to produce high quality work in a friendly and exciting environment.

Hyde Park Art Center’s exhibitions program is an incubator for artists looking to push the boundaries of their practice and whose work makes meaningful contributions to today’s social and political discourse. By enabling underrepresented artists to take risks and be entrepreneurial in their work, and giving them the broad exposure they deserve, the Art Center ensures that groundbreaking contemporary art gets made—and seen—in Chicago.

The Art Center welcomes submissions of artists’ work and curatorial proposals for group exhibitions on a rolling basis. Submissions are reviewed by the Exhibitions Committee, which consists of artists and art professionals, as well as the Art Center’s Director of Exhibitions and Executive Director. The Art Center plans its exhibitions program three seasons in advance.

To be considered for the 2017-18 exhibition season, please review the guidelines in the PDF below, and send proposals to the attention of the Director of Exhibitions. Due to a high volume of submissions and limited staff, please allow 12-16 weeks to receive a response regarding exhibition possibilities. There is no deadline for proposals.

The Rittenhouse Square Fine Art Show is held on the sidewalk which surrounds the beautiful and historic Rittenhouse Square in the very art-smart city of Philadelphia. Exhibiting only original art work in this affluent area of Philadelphia, artists have found success in both shows and consistently rate them as two of the top shows in the entire country.

The Rittenhouse Square Fine Art Shows are planned, organized and operated by the Rittenhouse Square Fine Arts Association, a non-profit organization with a Board of Directors comprised of exhibiting professional artists.


ACCEPTABLE WORK – MEDIA CATEGORIES

This is an originals only fine art show. Only non-functional original work created by the artist may be shown and all work must be for sale. No reproductions may be shown or promoted. All work displayed must be of the same or better quality than the work submitted to the jury process.

The following is a list and explanation of those categories accepted for jury.

Oils/Acrylics
Any two-dimensional works created in either oils or acrylics.

Watercolors
Any two-dimensional works created in watercolors, gouache or tempera paint.

Printmaking
Any printed works for which the artist has manipulated the plates, stones, or screens. These works must also be printed by the artist and not an associate or helper. In addition, printmakers are required to disclose their creative process and printing technique. All prints must be signed and numbered as a limited edition.

Drawing/Pastels
Any two dimensional works created using a dry medium, including pencil, graphite, charcoal, wax crayons or pastels.

Sculpture
Nonfunctional three-dimensional work created in any media.

Mixed Media
Two- or three-dimensional is work that incorporates more than one type of material or medium in the production.


APPLICATION PROCESS

Each exhibiting artist must complete an online application with only one artist per entry, unless you are entering as collaborating artists. Applying in different mediums requires it a separate application. Each submitted application must include an application fee and its own set of images.

The Jury Process
This competitive show is limited to 143 exhibitors chosen by a jury of highly qualified 2D and 3D fine artists. All participants in the show will be chosen by this jury. Decisions of the jury are based on the quality, uniqueness, consistency and professionalism of the artwork.

Digital Images
Five (5) images are to be submitted for each individual medium category entered by the artists: four (4) images must be of individual pieces of artwork and the fifth (5th) must be a booth image showing the overall continuity and professional presentation of the artist’s current body of work. The jury needs to see both the booth display and work similar to the work which the artist plans to bring to the show. [Note: The booth image is mandatory.]

Collaborating Artists
“Collaborating artists” is defined as two (2) artists that work together on any one piece of art. If two artists collaborate, it is regarded as one joint entry. If accepted, all work exhibited must be collaborative.

Standard Booth Fee: $425 (single booth). No double booths are available at this show.

This one-of-a-kind art festival brings botanic-themed and botanic-made photography, paintings, ceramics, cement, metal, fiber, wood, jewelry, and other pieces to the Chicago Botanic Garden.

Festival Eligibility
1. All artwork submitted to the jury process, displayed and presented for sale must be designed and executed by the accepted artist.
2. Artist certifies that jury images submitted represent his/her current original work.
3. Art collaborators that produce a single product may qualify as a single exhibitor. Such a team may not consist up to two people. If you enter as a collaboration, it must be clearly noted on the application and the collaborative effort must be clearly defined. Both artists must be present during all festival hours.
4. No work by apprentices or employees will be accepted.
5. Buy/sell vendors are strictly prohibited for all or part of an artist’s booth.
6. Artwork created from commercial molds, mass-produced kits, embellished objects or other commercial methods or artwork produced in studios involved in volume production will not be permitted.
7. Work made from ready-made items like clothing, glassware, furniture, etc. with painted, dyed or added embellishments will not be accepted.

Categories

2D – Original, two-dimensional work including graphite, charcoal, chalk, pastels, wax crayon, inks, and washes. All work must be framed and finished. 2D Artists must have panels in your booth.

3D Functional – Dimensional work that has a function – such as wearable fiber or wood furniture.

3D Non Functional – Art that serves an aesthetic not functional purpose. Generally “sculptures.”

Painting – Original, two-dimensional work created with pigment, including oils, acrylics, watercolor, egg tempura, etc.

Photography – Signed prints created by the artist from his/her own original negative or digital files that have been processed by that artist or under the artist’s direct supervision.

Jewelry – All jewelry, whether the work is produced from metal, glass, clay, fiber, paper, plastic or other materials, must be entered in this category. No commercial cast, molds or production studio work is allowed.


Jury and Selection Process

The jurors’ panel consists of jurors selected for their in-depth knowledge and experience. A diversity of backgrounds and skills including: working artists, educators, fine art and craft gallery owners, and museum directors/curators. It is the policy of the festival to select a new panel of jurors for each year to allow for a fresh perspective and to give applicants a fair chance for entry.

All applications are viewed anonymously. The artists accepted into each category are based on their total combined score of the jurors. The top scoring artists are invited to participate in the show.

The artistic work submitted by each artist is juried based on the criteria listed below:
• Body of Work: How well the images represent a point of view
• Artistic Theme: design, vision, creativity
• Technical Competence: technique, skill, degree of difficulty, mastery of materials used

The Cary Graphic Arts Collection at Rochester Institute of Technology invites applications for a one-month research fellowship for the study of the history of graphic communication. The fellowship is open to scholars engaged with subject areas covered by the library’s holdings. The Cary Collection is one of the premier libraries on graphic communication history. The collection has extensive primary and secondary resources on the development of the alphabet and writing systems, early book formats and manuscripts, calligraphy, the development of typefaces and their manufacturing technologies, the history and practice of paper making, typography and book design, artists’ books, printing and illustration processes, and bookbinding.

The Cary Collection short-term fellowship is for one month of study in residence at the library, with a stipend of $2,500 to cover travel and living expenses. The fellowship must be used within a year of the award.

The College's annual national juried exhibition highlights work selected from entries by artists from across the country. The show will feature a wide array of media, ranging from photography and prints to painting and sculpture.


ELIGIBILITY AND MEDIA

All artists over 18 living in the USA are eligible. In its largest dimension, individual artwork must be no greater than 24 inches including frame if applicable. All media are eligible, excluding jewelry and film/video. Weight limitation of 45 pounds. No work that requires special installation or instructions will be accepted. Only work created within the last three years is eligible.


AWARDS
Accepted work may be considered for purchase for the Harper College Educational Foundation Art Collection. Accepted artists may be considered for a solo exhibition at Harper College.

Each fall, Artsplosure issues a “call for artists” interested in exhibiting and selling at its namesake festival held each year on the third weekend in May. All work displayed or offered for sale must be the artist’s own creation. This year’s Artsplosure: The Raleigh Arts Festival is now three days: May 15-17, 2015.


The deadline for submission is January 28, 2015. A four-member jury reviews and scores all submissions by February 27, 2015, with notification of acceptance or non-acceptance occurring soon thereafter.


Application fee: $32 if submitted by January 28, 2015.

The booth fee is $330 for a single space (12′ x 12′) and $660 for a double space (24′ x 12′).


At the festival, a three-judge panel awards six cash prizes totaling $3,500:

The Museum of Arts and Design celebrates all facets of making and the creative process by which materials are transformed, from traditional techniques to cutting-edge technologies. Through a rotation of makers working across disciplines in the Artist Studios, the museum fosters an open dialogue between maker and museum visitor, creating opportunities for audiences of all backgrounds to strengthen and enrich their personal connection to the processes and techniques of contemporary creativity. This program aspires to provide learning, dialogue and participation for the museum visitor while providing a platform for emerging and mid-career artists.

Description
The Artist Studios are open for the public to interact informally with the working artist during regular museum hours. Applicants are highly encouraged to visit the Artist Studios at MAD to fully understand the program’s emphasis on visitor engagement. Artists should submit materials through the online application process.

The positions are paid, temporary adjunct and part-time. This program will run for approximately 4 months; each maker will work one regularly scheduled day/week, with some additional evening shifts on Thursdays and Fridays.


Artist Studios Guidelines

Qualifications
This program is ideal for makers who:
• Are emergent to mid-career artists
• Live in the New York area
• Work predominantly with three-dimensional materials and processes
• Want to develop their creative process of making by incorporating social engagement with the public
• Have an extensive background in education or teaching experience
• Are open to public interaction, have a friendly and welcoming demeanor, and enjoy talking to others about their creative process and finished works
• Are able to commit to one regularly scheduled day per week with additional Thursday and Friday evenings at their discretion, and to keep a punctual schedule

HARP is designed to support collaboration across disparate art forms by nurturing hybrid artists in the development of dynamic live performances. HARP provides significant long-term artistic, financial, and administrative support, tailored to each artist's individual needs.


SELECTION CRITERIA:

HARP is designed to assist mid-career individual artists or collaborative teams (writers, performers, composers, directors, designers, dramaturgs, puppeteers, dancers, singers) working in a hybrid manner in live performance.

We define a mid-career artist as one who has:

(1) completed their education within the last 8-15 years

(2) had at least a few significant residency or commissioning opportunities,

(3) created a body of work over at least 5 years and at least one full evening-length work, and

(4) earns some income from their art practice.

Artists must also meet the following criteria:

*The artist or team are residents of the NY metro area
*The artist or team find themselves at a crossroads in their career in developing a distinctive form/style/content of work, or is interested in stretching the previously accepted boundaries of their work by experimentation with form/style/content
*The artist or team is interested in actively participating both in the community of HERE and in a peer-based program aimed at exchanging resources, ideas, critique, and support.
*The artist or team should be linked to a specific project that is early in its development process and has secured any rights needed to work with any pre-existing material for the project.

Additionally, HARP believes that diversity is extremely important within the makeup of the residency program. HARP actively seeks this diversity both from the work itself in terms of genre and content, and in the background of the artists.

The selection panel includes HERE leadership, artists, and performing arts curators from NYC.


Funding Resources:
In addition to the extensive range of community, development, and production resources, HERE offers each resident artist a developmental commission, seed funds and workshop fees in order to develop their project. The developmental commission, paid out in monthly installments, ranges up to $5400 for a three year residency.

HERE also provides each artist with an annual seed fund of $1000 and with a fee of $1250-$2000 for a workshop in our annual CULTUREMART festival. All of these funds may be used as each artist deems fit for their individual project. In addition, there are fees for creators and their collaborators in the budget for the final production. The budget is developed jointly by HERE and the artist and HERE allocates at least $20,000 towards the final production in addition to partnering with the artist to raise project-specific funding.

art2wear! An Expo of Wearable Art: jewelry, apparel & accessories, hand-crafted by supremely talented artists.

art2wear is staged by ArtWorks Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to encouraging public interest collecting the work of our region’s (and other) artists.

Up to 50 positions are available for artists to participate.

It is our goal to present apparel, accessories and jewelry, with at least 65% of the elements from which they are constructed, made by the hand of the artist presenting the work. That said, in the realm of jewelry, VERY talented “stringers” MAY be considered (if the judges are unanimously impressed by originality of design, or use of repurposed materials, etc.)

The show will be a juried selection with five judges. Standards of high quality and good design will be strictly maintained. Our goal is promote appreciation for fine-craft and the skills and dedication required to make it. Some consideration will be given to geography, with artists from the Southeast receiving an extra quality point in the jury process, but the show is open to all artists.

All items offered for sale must be created by the hand of the artist to whom the display space is registered (work involving the help of a limited number of apprentices, if revealed in the artist statement accompanying the application, will be allowed); otherwise, NO work created by parties other than the artist whose work has been accepted for the show may be displayed.

Artists will staff their own display throughout the show; handling all sales of their work, and assuming all responsibility for the collection and reporting of any sales taxes due. (Credentials for up to two assistants will also be provided.) Booth Sitters will be available as demand permits.

Two prizes will be awarded: Best of Show and Best Display; the winners will receive their choice of free booth space at next year’s edition of this show, or at an art2wear event in another market in the coming year (prize value: $400).

Artists who wish to be considered should submit five (5) photos of representative work (including one booth shot), and complete the entry module.


Fees/Deadlines
Application: $30 due upon submission (accepted through February 5, 2015)
Booth Fees: $400. All Fees must be paid by March 30, 2015.
(Double booth = booth fee x2) Corners can be guaranteed for an additional $75.00. (Double corner = booth fee x3)

The Textilsammlung Max Berk · Kurpfälzisches Museum is holding the 6th European Quilt Triennial, which is expected to be shown in Heidelberg from 13 September 2015 to

10 January 2016 and subsequently at Kreismuseum Zons in Germany, Textilmuseum St. Gallen in Switzerland, and at the prestigious Festival of Quilts in Birmingham/UK in

August 2016. Plans for further exhibitions in Germany and other countries are currently under discussion.

PARTICIPATION:
 Participants must be resident in Europe.

CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION: (truncated)
 The work must display the basic structural characteristics of a quilt. It must be made of flexible material. The use of additional materials is permitted. The whole work or a work made of several individual pieces must comprise at least two layers of material joined together with quilting stitch.
 The work may contain traditional elements but as a whole must show an original design idea. Stagnation of craft and design, aiming only at technical perfection, will not be accepted for participation. Copies of works or works designed by other people are not permitted, nor are any quilts created in workshops.
 The work must not be older than 12 months at the time of entry and must not be submitted concurrently to any other competition.
 The work must not have been shown or be shown in public before the exhibition in the autumn of 2015.
 The work must have a minimum size of 1 m² and a maximum size of 4 m². When quoting the size on the forms and photo material, always state the height before the width.
 The reverse of the quilt must have a tunnel at least 10 cm in width at the top, and this tunnel must be 3 cm shorter on both sides than the outer edges of the actual quilt. We also recommend that you include a tunnel along the bottom edge. However, three-dimensional objects that can be displayed as free-standing or hanging artefacts are explicitly permitted.
 Garments are not accepted.
 Each participant may submit entries for a maximum of 2 works.


REGISTRATION:
 The following documents must be submitted for each work:
▪ Entry form
▪ 1 CD containing one unedited digital photo of the whole piece and one of a detail of the work
▪ 1 colour photo of the whole work
▪ 1 self-addressed envelope of a sufficient size to be used for returning the photos

Submission of a small sample of the work (max. A4, and not a collection of materials) is optional, but is strongly recommended. It helps the jury to evaluate the

quality of the work.

 A non-refundable registration fee of €25.00 (for up to two pieces)
 The entry may be made in German, English or French.
 The CDs must bear the artist’s name and the title of the work.


PRIZES:
Three prizes will be awarded:
▪ 1st prize: Doris Winter Memorial Prize for innovation in material, technique and design to the amount of €5,000 donated by the Betty Barclay Group
▪ 2nd prize of €1,000 for talented young quilters and newcomers under the age of 40
▪ 3rd prize of €1,000 for innovation in a large format (minimum 3 m², maximum 4 m²)

The winners will be selected by the jury. The jury reserves the right to withhold any of the prizes if none of the entries meets the respective requirements.

Throughout time and across cultures exploration of craft has been endless. Fiber art has played a large role in society from the functional to the non-functional.

'some things looming' presents our Spring exhibition titled, "Unrestrained", an exhibition of fiber art, that as the title implies, places few artistic limits on your chosen submission. We are seeking unique and contemporary expressions of fiber and textile.


Rules for Entering: (truncated)

• All work must be original, one-of-a-kind, made by the artist submitting the entry.

• Artists may submit up to a maximum of three works, completed within the last three years. Due to space restrictions, 2-D work must be 40"x 40" or less, 3-D work on pedestals no larger than 18" x 18"x 18". Freestanding works will be accepted. No large installations can be considered. Yardage is acceptable.

• You may submit up to 3 images per works submitted. (Max 3 works x 3 images = max 9 total images)

• Submit general artist Statement and a 100 word (or less) write up for each work submitted (for catalog and promo). Must be submitted on either a CD or emailed with your images to submissions@somethinglooming.com.


Selection of Artwork:

Entries will be selected by ‘some things looming’ based on their quality and relevance to the goal/theme of theexhibit. Unusual, experimental, and traditional fiber work is all good.

Please be certain that it is quality prepared for exhibit, completed within the last three years, and have relevance to the theme. Selected artists are responsible for costs of shipping their work to and from the gallery.

The Luminarts Cultural Foundation offers extensive opportunities for Luminarts Fellows, including grants/project support, lectures, workshops, mentorship and facilitated conversations that provide valuable insights into building a successful career in the arts and strengthening our community of participating artists.

The Visual Arts Competition awards five $5,000 grant awards and Luminarts Fellowships for excellence in visual arts (drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, mixed media, sculpture, moving image, etc.)

Applicants submit their images online for a preliminary blind juror panel. Finalists are selected for a second juror process that takes place in an exhibition at the Union League Club of Chicago. Finalists are asked to choose two pieces to exhibit during the exhibition. Following a private viewing throughout the day, the winners are selected by a final juror panel. Winners are announced in the evening during the Visual Arts Exhibition on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, hosted by Luminarts.

Eligibility and Guidelines

Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:
• Be between the ages of 18 and 30 years old on the date you apply
• Be currently enrolled in, or have previously graduated from, a degree program
• Live within 150 miles of the Union League Club of Chicago
• Be available to hang/setup your artwork at the Union League Club of Chicago on Monday, May 11, 2015 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. (this is only required if you are selected as a finalist)
• Be available to attend the Visual Arts Exhibition and awards on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. (this is only required if you are selected as a finalist)


Image and Video Submission Guidelines
All images submitted should be of pieces able to be installed in a shared gallery space within a limited period of time. Any hung piece should not exceed 72 inches in any direction.

Applicants may submit up to three (3) images of artwork with their application or one (1) moving image video, but not both. Space will be provided on the application to include the requested details about each piece (title, dimensions, medium, date, etc.) Applicants will also include an artist statement with their application.

Applicants will be notified via email on or before Wednesday, April 1, 2015 if they have been selected as a finalist.

The Rittenhouse Square Fine Art Show is held on the sidewalk which surrounds the beautiful and historic Rittenhouse Square in the very art-smart city of Philadelphia. Exhibiting only original art work in this affluent area of Philadelphia, artists have found success in both shows and consistently rate them as two of the top shows in the entire country.

The Rittenhouse Square Fine Art Shows are planned, organized and operated by the Rittenhouse Square Fine Arts Association, a non-profit organization with a Board of Directors comprised of exhibiting professional artists.


ACCEPTABLE WORK – MEDIA CATEGORIES

This is an originals only fine art show. Only non-functional original work created by the artist may be shown and all work must be for sale. No reproductions may be shown or promoted. All work displayed must be of the same or better quality than the work submitted to the jury process.

The following is a list and explanation of those categories accepted for jury.

Oils/Acrylics
Any two-dimensional works created in either oils or acrylics.

Watercolors
Any two-dimensional works created in watercolors, gouache or tempera paint.

Printmaking
Any printed works for which the artist has manipulated the plates, stones, or screens. These works must also be printed by the artist and not an associate or helper. In addition, printmakers are required to disclose their creative process and printing technique. All prints must be signed and numbered as a limited edition.

Drawing/Pastels
Any two dimensional works created using a dry medium, including pencil, graphite, charcoal, wax crayons or pastels.

Sculpture
Nonfunctional three-dimensional work created in any media.

Mixed Media
Two- or three-dimensional is work that incorporates more than one type of material or medium in the production.


APPLICATION PROCESS

Each exhibiting artist must complete an online application with only one artist per entry, unless you are entering as collaborating artists. Applying in different mediums requires it a separate application. Each submitted application must include an application fee and its own set of images.

The Jury Process
This competitive show is limited to 143 exhibitors chosen by a jury of highly qualified 2D and 3D fine artists. All participants in the show will be chosen by this jury. Decisions of the jury are based on the quality, uniqueness, consistency and professionalism of the artwork.

Digital Images
Five (5) images are to be submitted for each individual medium category entered by the artists: four (4) images must be of individual pieces of artwork and the fifth (5th) must be a booth image showing the overall continuity and professional presentation of the artist’s current body of work. The jury needs to see both the booth display and work similar to the work which the artist plans to bring to the show. [Note: The booth image is mandatory.]

Collaborating Artists
“Collaborating artists” is defined as two (2) artists that work together on any one piece of art. If two artists collaborate, it is regarded as one joint entry. If accepted, all work exhibited must be collaborative.

ELIGIBILITY

Knitters and crocheters of all levels are encouraged to submit their original designs.

The design contest will only accept hand-knit and crocheted blankets that measure no smaller than 48"x48" and no larger than 72"x72".

A maximum of four (4) entries per entrant will be accepted. Only hand-knit or crocheted blanets will be accepted. Only designs by individuals will be accepted. We value creativity.

Previously published designs are not eligible for submission. This includes web publishing as well as self-publishing.

All decisions by the jury will be final and binding. SoHo Publishing and Mohair South Africa may revise these rules at any time in their sole discretion. The contest is not open to any employee of Soho Publishing or any of its subsidiaries or company under common control.


GARMENT SIZES & MATERIALS

Please make your blanket to measure no smaller than 48"x48" and no larger than 72"x72".

This contest is sponsored by Mohair South Africa. All submitted entries must be knit using yarn that includes at least 25% mohair.

The final blanket must be knit predominantly with the aforementioned mohair/mohair blend yarn. When designing your garment, please keep ALL ball bands of all yarns used, as finalists will be required to submit ALL ball bands with the blanket.


ORIGINAL DESIGNS

All submitted designs must be the original work of the entrant and must not infringe upon the copyrights or other intellectual property rights of any other person or entity. SoHo Publishing and Vogue Knitting reserve the right, in their absolute and sole discretion, to disqualify at any time during the Design Contest any submitted design that they believe may infringe on the rights of any third parties. All winning entries and submitted designs with corresponding patterns and samples become the
sole property of Vogue Knitting and Mohair South Africa, without further compensation, to be used or not used at their discretion, and will not be returned.

If you are not selected as a finalist, you may post or sell the pattern of your entry after winners have been announced at the

art2wear! An Expo of Wearable Art: jewelry, apparel & accessories, hand-crafted by supremely talented artists.

art2wear is staged by ArtWorks Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to encouraging public interest collecting the work of our region’s (and other) artists.

Up to 50 positions are available for artists to participate.

It is our goal to present apparel, accessories and jewelry, with at least 65% of the elements from which they are constructed, made by the hand of the artist presenting the work. That said, in the realm of jewelry, VERY talented “stringers” MAY be considered (if the judges are unanimously impressed by originality of design, or use of repurposed materials, etc.)

The show will be a juried selection with five judges. Standards of high quality and good design will be strictly maintained. Our goal is promote appreciation for fine-craft and the skills and dedication required to make it. Some consideration will be given to geography, with artists from the Southeast receiving an extra quality point in the jury process, but the show is open to all artists.

All items offered for sale must be created by the hand of the artist to whom the display space is registered (work involving the help of a limited number of apprentices, if revealed in the artist statement accompanying the application, will be allowed); otherwise, NO work created by parties other than the artist whose work has been accepted for the show may be displayed.

Artists will staff their own display throughout the show; handling all sales of their work, and assuming all responsibility for the collection and reporting of any sales taxes due. (Credentials for up to two assistants will also be provided.) Booth Sitters will be available as demand permits.

Two prizes will be awarded: Best of Show and Best Display; the winners will receive their choice of free booth space at next year’s edition of this show, or at an art2wear event in another market in the coming year (prize value: $400).

Artists who wish to be considered should submit five (5) photos of representative work (including one booth shot), and complete the entry module.

The McLean County Art Center announces a juried exhibition exploring the complexity and diversity in contemporary quilt making across Illinois. Centrally located in Bloomington, the Illinois Contemporary Quilts Juried Exhibition is inclusive of Art Quilts, Modern Quilts, Functional and Wall Hanging Quilts of original artistic design that use both modern and traditional quilting techniques.


Eligibility

Residents of Illinois over 18 years of age.



Media and Specifications

 All quilts entered must be of the entrant’s original design. No quilt may be constructed following a commercial pattern or kit.
 All entries must have the basic structural characteristics of a quilt; predominantly fabric, composed of three distinct layers, and layers must be held together by hand or machine made quilting stitches.
 All entries must be no larger than 60” W x 80” L in any direction, made in the last two years.
 Collaborative work is accepted. Authorship of all parties should be recognized.
 A top sleeve is required on the back of all quilts to be installed in the gallery, no wooden slat is required.

The Open Show is one of the largest shows of its kind in the Pacific Northwest. The show displays work from emerging and established artists. Everyone is welcome without a jury process. Each year, a limited number of cash and non-cash awards are presented, which are sponsored by area businesses, organizations, and individuals.

The Open Show is large but will have micro galleries within the Open Show Tent that encourage visitors to pause and experience pieces individually. The exhibition design will carefully consider special placement for each artwork so that every artist’s voice can be heard. The Open Show accepts a maximum of seven works per artist.


Eligibility

The show is open to all 2D and 3D established and emerging artists.

◾ Only original artwork created within the last two (2) years and not previously entered at this art show will be accepted.
◾ Diptychs, triptychs, and/or sets may be entered and sold with one price.
◾ Traditional single pieces are always welcome.

The Modern Quilt Guild invites digital submissions from MQG members of their original quilt art created after 2005 for a juried exhibition planned at the Texas Quilt Museum for January – March 2016, sponsored exclusively by EZ Quilting by Simplicity Creative Group. The jury committee consists of Karey Bresenhan and Nancy O’Bryant Puentes, co-directors of the Museum, assisted by Dr. Sandra Sider, Museum Curator. They plan to select approximately 18 quilts for the exhibition.

Quilts must have three layers stitched together, with a 4-inch-wide sleeve sewn to the top of the quilt’s back that ends 1/2 inch from both side edges.

There are no size limitations for the quilts and no entry fee, but please note that the quilt cannot have been exhibited within 200 miles of La Grange, Texas, during 2015, including at QuiltCon in Austin.
