ART QUILTS LOWELL 2008 is a national juried exhibition, organized by the Brush Art Gallery, to identify and encourage quilt artists. The exhibition will include art quiltsfrom artists throughout the United States. The exhibition will provide an overview ofsome of the finest quilts being produced in this country; it is a feature of the 2008 LowellQuilt Festival August 7-10.
ELIGIBILITY: Artists who are residents of any state in the United States
METHOD OF SELECTION: Slides or Digital images will be juried by Connie Collom, Executive Director, New England Quilt Museum, and Clara Wainwright, Quiltmaker and Public Celebration Artist.
ENTRY PROCEDURE:
Artists may submit up to three entries. A $35 non-refundable fee made out to the Brush Art Gallery is required with entries.
Only original art quilts completed within the past 4 years are eligible.
All quilts must be no larger in height than 5.5 feet or width 4 feet and must be ready for hanging with a 3-6 inch sleeve (large enough to comfortably accommodate awood dowel or wood/plastic slat).
All quilts must be accompanied by dowels or slats. Dowels need hardware and slats should have hardware or holes for hanging. Quilts that don't meet these requirements will not be accepted for hanging.
Quilts should be clearly labeled on reverse with artist's name and title of quilt.
Please submit six high resolution jpegs on disk or slides.
The total number of entries is three, which means there can be six images: the full quilt and a detail image for each quilt.
INSURANCE AND SALES: All quilts will be for sale, unless otherwise specified. The Brush takes a 40% commission on quilts sold. The Brush insures all quilts on loan while they are at the Gallery.
