The Art Museum of Los Gatos invites artists to submit artwork for consideration to be included in the 2012-2013 exhibition schedule. We encourage participants from a range of media including visual arts: sculpture, painting, photography, printmaking and site specific installations.
Submissions:
•Send images of 5 to 15 work samples and include the media, dimensions and title for each image provided.
•Please also include an artist statement, bio and exhibition history.
•Submissions can be sent electronically or in the post. If you require your portfolio to be returned, please send a self addressed stamped envelope.

2012 marks the centennial of the appearance of collage in painting. In that time, collage has become ubiquitous within contemporary art and culture, and its myriad applications have arguably expanded its original definition to become the most inclusive of artistic processes. Collage at 100 is a three-part exhibition series that opens in September of 2012 and runs through June of 2013. All media considered. The series aims to explore collage within contemporary art practices as much as it endeavors to examine the conceptual and political manifestations of this evolving artistic strategy.
Eligibility
All works must be original and collage-based—anything that involves either an analog or virtual combination of images and/or objects. Glue and fasteners of any type are anticipated, however, these per se are not a prerequisite. All media will be considered. The gallery reserves the right to reject work that differs from submitted images. Preference will be given to any work created in the last three years.
Each entrant may submit up to ten individual works total, and may, if need be, submit up to five detail images per entry for communicating alternate views — in cases of sculpture or installation entries, etc.

The 33rd annual College Hill Arts Festival will be held July 20-21, 2012 on the campus of the University of Northern Iowa at the shady corner of College and 23rd Streets. The College Hill Arts Festival has been named to Sunshine Artist magazine's list of 'Best Fine Arts & Design Shows' in the United States for four of the past five years. Also, the Festival was named the 2006 Event of the Year by the Cedar Valley Tourism Bureaus.
Each year 75 talented artists are hand-selected by three independent jurors whose task it is to fill the Festival with high quality art that demonstrates original design and unique representation of the chosen medium. These juried artists will exhibit and sell their original artwork in categories including jewelry, sculpture, painting, pastel, ceramics, graphics/printmaking, mixed media, fiber, photography, glass, and wood.
The College Hill Arts Festival appreciates the continued support of our generous corporate sponsors and volunteers who contribute their time and effort to ensure a high quality Festival.
Complimenting the artists’ exhibits will be a variety of musical groups performing on stage; a hands-on creative activity for children sponsored by the Hearst Center for the Arts; and the Young Art Collectors Gallery which features original artwork created by exhibiting artists with prices of $10 or less and encourages children [ages 14 & under] to make independent choices about art. There will also be a variety of food vendors to entice Festival attendees. Picnic tables will be located near the food booth and the Performing Arts Stage.

The Artist Project is a collaboration between an experienced artist, the Museum of Fine Arts, and eight after-school community organizations in the Boston area. The program is designed to engage children in the art-making process under the guidance of an artist. Drawing inspiration from the MFA’s collection, the selected artist will plan and lead an art project with children between the ages of six and twelve. The final product will be a collaborative work of art reflecting the voices and ideas of participating children, and will be exhibited in the MFA’s Community and SMFA gallery in the Linde Family Wing.
LEAD ARTIST INVOLVEMENT
The MFA provides a stipend of $18,000 to the selected artist and a budget of $3,000 for materials. The lead artist will work with MFA staff and collections, as well as be recognized across all exhibition materials including postcards and the MFA website. The role of the lead artist is to guide the children and steer the work of art into its final exhibited shape.
ELIGIBILITY
Artists must be experienced in exhibiting and working with groups of children. Artists who work in any medium are eligible to apply.

We urge artists/curators to view our archive and review recent exhibitions, or visit the space to understand our general goals and focus. Installation assistance, an opening reception and publicity for the exhibition will be provided for all accepted proposals. Out of town artists are also provided housing if they wish to attend the reception and/or installation of their work. The gallery does not fund shipping of work.

Modern quilting is a new twist on the traditional art of quilting that is rapidly gaining interest from the next wave of quilters.
Modern quilts and quilters:
This exhibit will premiere at International Quilt Market and Festival, October 26–November 4, 2012. We would also like to retain quilts for possible exhibition at International Quilt Festival/Cincinnati in April 2013, and our summer International Quilt Festival/Long Beach in July 2013.
We would like to invite members from any of the Modern Quilt Guilds around the world to be considered for inclusion in the new exhibit.
You may submit a total of five (5) quilts for our consideration. We require that quilts be at least 36” on each side. There is no maximum size limit.
Completed submissions with visuals must be received online by Friday, March 2, 2012. You will be notified no later than Friday, March 30, 2012.
Entries selected from digital images are subject to additional evaluation when the actual quilt arrives in Houston.

- Use asymmetry in quilt design
- Rely less on repetition and on the interaction of quilt block motifs

- Incorporate increased use of negative space
- Are inspired by modern art and architecture
- Frequently use improvisational piecing

- Reflect an increased use of solid fabrics
- Focus on finishing quilts on home sewing machines

THE GALLERY
City Center Gallery at the OSU Urban Arts Space is an opportunity for emerging artists to display their art and launch their careers. Operated and juried entirely by OSU students from arts and non-arts disciplines, City Center Gallery grants funding to selected artists or artist groups and presents a month-long exhibition located in the corridor space at the entrance of the OSU Urban Arts Space. Artists who display in City Center Gallery will have the unique opportunity to exhibit work in a professional setting and gain real-world knowledge in the operations of galleries. By assisting artists in the Columbus community, the OSU Urban Arts Space hopes to create a new artistic destination for both artists and residents of Columbus, Ohio.
THE CALL
Any greater Columbus area artist or artist group can submit his/her concept and artwork during open application periods. All mediums of art are eligible; these include, but are not limited to, visual, performing, literary, and cinematic arts. Selected artists will receive a need-based grant of up to $500 to fund the proposed exhibition. In addition, student staff members will work with the artists throughout the preparation and duration of the exhibition. These efforts include exhibition layout, installation and promotions, among others. Artists will be notified no less than sixty days before the proposed exhibition date and will be allotted three days to install, one month to exhibit, and one day to strike.
Individual artists are limited to one accepted proposal per year; however, individual artists are permitted to exhibit in a collaborative or group exhibition for a total of two accepted proposals per year. There is no limitation on the amount of proposals an individual may submit. Multiple proposals in one voting period are welcome. Applications are considered on a six-month rolling basis period, after which the applicant will be notified of a final decision.

- New applicants are selected by jury each season. Once an artist is accepted as an exhibiting artist, it is not necessary to be juried again unless more than 3 years have elapsed since the artist last exhibited at Art in the Loft or the artist wishes to exhibit in a new media.
- New applicants (and those who seek to be re-juried) must submit five (5) photos of their work to the jury with their application.
- All work must be available for sale and each artist must maintain work on display throughout the duration of the exhibit.
- Exhibiting artists pay a 35% commission on sale of their artwork. Artists who wish to volunteer to staff the gallery are eligible for a reduced commission of 15%.

2013 Season
The Soap Factory exhibits work in its galleries throughout the year. Exhibitions curated from submissions are typically comprised of 8-10 artists. The Soap Factory is a 120-year old ex-industrial warehouse on the banks of the Mississippi River in Minneapolis. We have no climate control, air conditioning or permanent heating system; please bear this in mind when submitting your work. Projects by individual artists that propose to use the entire 12,000 sq feet of gallery space are always encouraged.
We are particularly interested in proposals conceived specifically for The Soap Factory galleries. Our programming is unique in that we select only a small proportion of the artists we exhibit from our pool of submissions. We commonly receive 400 artist submissions per season.
Submission Guidelines for 2013 season: (truncated)

* We do NOT accept e-mailed submissions.
* Submissions are reviewed for exhibition in the 2013 season.
* Artists selected for the 2013 season will be notified in summer of 2012.

The Soap Factory provides full installation support for all selected projects, including travel and accommodation, as well as a stipend to artists. 2013 Season
The Soap Factory exhibits work in its galleries throughout the year. Exhibitions curated from submissions are typically comprised of 8-10 artists. The Soap Factory is a 120-year old ex-industrial warehouse on the banks of the Mississippi River in Minneapolis. We have no climate control, air conditioning or permanent heating system; please bear this in mind when submitting your work. Projects by individual artists that propose to use the entire 12,000 sq feet of gallery space are always encouraged.
We are particularly interested in proposals conceived specifically for The Soap Factory galleries. Our programming is unique in that we select only a small proportion of the artists we exhibit from our pool of submissions. We commonly receive 400 artist submissions per season.
Submission Guidelines for 2013 season: (truncated)
* Postmark deadline is April 30, 2012.
* We do NOT accept e-mailed submissions.
* Submissions are reviewed for exhibition in the 2013 season.
* Artists selected for the 2013 season will be notified in summer of 2012.
* We may keep your submission on file for up to 8 months.
The Soap Factory provides full installation support for all selected projects, including travel and accommodation, as well as a stipend to artists. Exhibit Concept
“Warps and Wefts” the exhibit, is a challenge to all Artists, not just Weavers, to create a work utilizing the interlacing of lengthwise materials (warp) with crosswise materials (weft). It is a call to interpret, to adapt, and to merge this warp and weft structure into your own artistic concept.
Cultures the world over have used this structure for centuries to weave textiles and baskets, utilizing wool, plant fiber, wood, metal, plastic, and paper. What can you make using this structure?
Rules
This juried exhibit is open to all artists. All entries must be original work created by the interlacing of warp and weft, and not have been shown at previous ‘Warp and Weft’ exhibits at Gualala Arts.
Entry fee
$15 for 1-3 pieces.
$15 additional for each not for sale piece.
All entries must be ready to hang. It is the responsibility of the artist to provide suitable hanging devices. Instructions for hanging preferences are welcomed.
Selection
Works for this exhibit will be selected from digital images and photos. Artists may submit up to three pictures or digital images of each piece (no slides please).
