The Festival is known for the high quality and variety of fine arts and fine crafts available, as well as the continuous presentations, performances and demonstrations that take place throughout the weekend. Set amidst the lush gardens and beautiful public art sculptures of the Scottsdale Civic Center Mall in downtown Scottsdale, the Festival is a fabulous way to spend an afternoon strolling among exhibitors, visiting with artists and enjoying live performances.
Proceeds from the Festival help support the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts' programs.
The Festival features a dynamic variety of fine art by 200 acclaimed artists presenting ceramics, painting, photography, wood, glass, jewelry, fiber and more.

LUKE & ELOY GALLERY currently reviews images for the gallery's exhibition "Laughingstock - Humor in Art and Craft" (November 15, 2008 - December 23, 2008)
We are interested in artists whose work displays a strong "humorous component" either in design, material, or context and we would like to explore how artists use irony, goofiness, satire, and sarcasm in their work. The exhibition should reveal how humor and satire can stimulate laughter as well as serve as a vehicle to explore more serious subjects, such as feminism, the natural environment, the excesses of consumer culture, social injustice, and war. Can artwork be "funny" and critical at the same time? How does the artist's choice of materials affect the outcome so that the work is perceived as "funny"? What are the boundaries in humor and who gets to decide what these are? Are there topics we are not allowed to laugh about ?
All media will be considered including but not limited to painting, sculpture, art jewelry, mixed media, textiles, clay, metal, wood, glass, paper, photography, video and performance. All artwork must be one-of-a-kind originals or limited edition pieces created by the artist. Mass produced pieces are not acceptable. Wall and ceiling hung work must be tightly wired for hanging; no saw tooth bars.
All artwork submitted for review and exhibition must be for sale and remain at LUKE & ELOY GALLERY throughout the exhibition. A gallery commission on all sold works will apply. Artists are responsible for the transport of their work to the gallery, arranging for pick up of their unsold work after the exhibition closes and for insuring their work during transit.
Artwork is insured while on the gallery premises.
Eligible to submit are US artists 18 and older. Students currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate art programs are welcome to apply.

Grandfathered vendors (those who exhibited the previous year’s Festival) are offered an opportunity to return upon an annual evaluation.
After determining available spaces, we will jury all new applications received by the October 1st postmark. This process usually takes place at the end of October or early November. Our decisions are based on many things including:

-Type of exhibit needed to give the festival a well rounded presentation.

We're more than just a little excited to announce that applications are now open for City of Craft's 2008 December show!!
For those of you who missed last year's show, it is a community-based craft culture event where local community-arts groups, craft based initiatives/projects, studios, and other organizations are invited to do outreach to the public alongside a curated craft fair and craft-based installations. The 2008 City of Craft event will also feature crafty activities in satellite West Queen West neighbourhood businesses and galleries. If this sounds up your alley, we are currently soliciting applications and proposals from craft vendors,community groups and craft-based installation artists.
